[Cthulhu Mythos] When the Stars Come Out to Play

Pre-release: "Amazing Grace [Western Fantasy]". See the end for the blurb. (Important note: subscribing to the entire story costs only 141 Jinjiang coins, equivalent to RMB 1.4.) Shub is the adopted daughter of the most powerful family in Arkham City. Her adoptive father, Lord Toth, is getting on in years and isn't quite right in the head. She also has two adoptive brothers: one has designs on her, and the other does nothing but cause trouble. Every day in Arkham City is perfectly normal, until a group of meddlesome outsiders arrives, and Shub happens to trip over a cat on the stairs and hit her head. Something strange seems to be happening. "Did she go stupid?" "Maybe. But the game has already begun." From the investigators' perspective: This is a wondrous game. The winner will receive a promise from the master of the game. Game instructions: There is no limit to the number of winners. There is no death, only madness. Investigator: "So, is there anything you need us to do?" NPC: "Um, what enthusiastic outsiders you are. Let me see. Oh, Lord Toth's cat has gone missing. You'll have to find it." 1. Includes Cthulhu Mythos elements, as well as several of Lovecraft's stories. 2. In this setting, players have never heard of the Cthulhu Mythos. This isn't a tabletop roleplaying campaign, and there is no Keeper. 3. Includes some of Derleth's additional lore, but leaves out the Ultimate North. 4. Please don't judge the Outer Gods by human values, or vice versa. 5. If you don't know what any of this means, it won't affect your enjoyment. Shub and Yog Two max-level powerhouses Pre-release: "The savior of the war against the demons was actually an evil sorcerer who made a pact with one. Three hundred years ago, we did everything in our power to kill him, but now his followers are bringing evil back to life. You are his only descendant, and to keep them from using you..." "So you've decided to kill me first?" "Ahem... Not quite, though it's not entirely out of the question. Anyway, you can choose." And so, an ordinary third-rate amateur sorceress is forced onto the path of demanding child support from her ancestor. "But didn't I forget to tell them that I made a pact too?" "O pioneer of our sorcerers, awaken from your long slumber and grant us your wisdom. Your rebellious descendant has raised the banner of resistance and is on her way to kill you." "Descendant? What descendant?" The savior, who opens his eyes to learn that he has been cheated on: ... The savior: Is this the power of magic? But when it comes to that woman, nothing is too outrageous. Still, why does this one and only descendant look more and more like my delicate, helpless, bewitchingly feminine little wife? A reunion after a long separation ought to be moving, at least in theory. But when the two looked at each other, all they saw was a pest. And then came the greeting: "How are you still alive?" Heroine: Eileen Esnona (alias: Morgan Pantigra) Hero: Eli Jedidiah (It's fine if you can't remember. The surnames aren't important.) An alternate setting with a background similar to the Victorian era. Two hapless troublemakers suffocate each other with their antics and torment one another. A touch of academia. Theme: Believe in science and the knowability of the world.
