The Moment I Confessed to My Moonlight, They Ascended to Heaven

A Ying's white moonlight was the immortal who cleared her name when she was forced to kneel in humiliation in the royal capital at sixteen.

The immortal was upright and incorruptible, as radiant and serene as moonlight after rain.

A Ying saw him as a guiding light. She embarked on the path to immortality, following him from the mortal realm to the immortal sect, and eventually became a renowned sword immortal known throughout the sect.

Just as A Ying worked up the courage to confess her feelings to him, she clearly saw him frown, utterly shocked. Then rolling waves of tribulation lightning came crashing down. The immortal had ascended!

A Ying, after the immortal ascended: Was my love really so terrifying that it scared him into ascending on the spot?

The immortal, after ascending in broad daylight: The thunder was so loud. Could I have imagined what I heard?

Ascending is easy. Returning to the mortal realm is hard.

After ascending, the immortal spent every day thinking about how to get back to the one he loved, until at last he found a clever way. He divided his soul into countless threads and sent them down to the lower realm. One day, he possessed the guard dog at his beloved's sect; the next, he took shelter in the magpie perched outside her window. Later, he even became the mosquito disturbing her sleep, hovering by her pillow...

The immortal murmured softly, "Yingying, Yingying."

In the dead of night, A Ying would always hear a buzzing by her ear. She lit a candle and swatted the mosquito dead.

At last, some peace and quiet.

Still, A Ying couldn't understand why, ever since the immortal ascended, all kinds of strange things kept appearing around her.
