My Archenemy Picked Up My System

Yun Yao transmigrates into a novel, where she’ll die if she fails to complete the assigned task.

But...

Yun Yao groans in frustration: Could you at least tell me what the task is?!

Something went wrong when she transmigrated into the book, and the System went offline. Yun Yao knows nothing about the plot or her mission, and every night she can only watch her life tick away.

With no other choice, she tries her hand at everything.

Entrance exam? She has to come in first!

A team competition is about to be lost, and they need someone to turn the tide? No problem, leave it to her!

They’re short a mecha mechanic? She’ll learn!

But her lifespan keeps counting down. Desperate, Yun Yao decides she’ll take first place one more time, then lie flat and wait to die. Then she notices the countdown has stopped.

After a moment’s thought, Yun Yao finally understands: her task is to become number one. As long as she takes first place in every competition, she’ll complete it.

So it’s a kingmaking System!

Zhao Shan used to be a dazzling star among the best of the best in the interstellar world. But then, out of nowhere, a poor new student appears, taking first place in every competition.

Zhao Shan is left in second place year after year.

He can’t accept it. He studies day and night, yet still has to watch Yun Yao surpass him.

Then one day, he finds Yun Yao’s diary, filled with the secret thoughts of a young girl that she could never bring herself to say aloud.

[I work so hard to become number one just so you’ll look at me a little more]

[I hope we can stand side by side on the winners’ podium]

Zhao Shan: !!!!

So Yun Yao has a crush on me!

Yun Yao thinks there’s something strange about the way Zhao Shan looks at her.

They’re sworn rivals, yet he keeps blushing and saying weird things.

Has being second for so long given him psychological problems?

Yun Yao ponders this, but she has to take first place or she’ll die.

To help Zhao Shan get back to normal, Yun Yao makes time to have meals with him now and then and sits in on psychology counseling classes. Then one day, she suddenly hears the System’s prompt.

[Romance progress at 100%. Mission complete!]

Yun Yao: What romance? What mission? Wasn’t my goal to become number one in the interstellar world?
