His False Moon

Jin Zhizhou had been told since childhood to look after Qin Wenjing, who was the same age and lived across the hall.

The little one opposite had snow-white short hair and frost-tipped lashes. When he looked at Jin Zhizhou, his bright blue eyes blinked, and he softly called him "Big Brother."

Jin Zhizhou barely heard what his mother was saying. He thumped his chest and promised, "Leave it to me. You can count on me."

As they grew older, Jin Zhizhou learned that Qin Wenjing had albinism, the incurable kind.

Out of a sense of responsibility, Jin Zhizhou had spent as many years fighting for him as Qin Wenjing had spent following him around and calling him "Big Brother" in a sweet little voice.

Until one day in their second year of high school, Jin Zhizhou saw Qin Wenjing take on six people in an alley, his bright blue eyes filled with a viciousness Jin Zhizhou had never seen before.

After beating them all into the ground, Qin Wenjing wiped the blood from his face and looked up.

Their eyes met. It was terribly awkward.

Jin Zhizhou had overlooked a few things.

Qin Wenjing never skipped PE, never wore glasses while sitting in the back row, and never wore a hat after school at noon.

He seemed to pay no attention to the precautions someone with albinism should take.

At first, Jin Zhizhou thought he'd forgotten. But then he saw Qin Wenjing's student records...

The words "Chinese-Russian mixed heritage" shone brightly before his eyes.

Jin Zhizhou: ...

Jin Zhizhou gripped the mouse so hard he nearly crushed it.
