Back to the Year My Husband Was A...

1. Fu Yao's lover, Chu Chen, used to be a gang boss who ruled the streets and made a name for himself. He'd been arrested several times, of course, and had countless enemies. After getting together with Fu Yao, he turned over a new leaf and opened a small shop, hoping to live a quiet, ordinary life. But just a few days after opening the shop, an enemy stabbed him to death. As he lay dying, he gripped Fu Yao's hand with bloodied fingers and gave a bitter smile. "My biggest regret in life is going down this path... I should've gone to college..."

Fu Yao is reborn at the age of sixteen. This time, he's going to find his lover ahead of time, drag him back from the road to dropping out of high school, keep an eye on him so he studies hard and gets into his dream university, and help him avoid the life he lived in his previous life and the fate of being stabbed to death.

"He said he was a little bastard back in school," Fu Yao recalls Chu Chen once telling him. Chu Chen was reluctant to talk much about his past, only sharing a few things now and then, usually jokingly when they were in the throes of passion.

Fu Yao thinks that Chu Chen is only a student at this point. How bad could he possibly be? Of course, Fu Yao will win him over with reason and sincerity, patiently guiding him onto the right path. But when he first meets the teenage Chu Chen, the boy is blocking him in the bathroom with a few underlings, demanding protection money with a cocky sneer!

Fu Yao: ...

Maybe I should just beat Chu Chen to death!

2. Chu Chen thinks the new kid, Fu Yao, has something wrong with his head. Not only does he stop Chu Chen from skipping school, fighting, and extorting protection money, he even tries to manage his studies! "Who do you think you are? Believe me, I'll kill you!"

But he never imagines that one day he'll pin Fu Yao in a corner and beg for forgiveness like a kicked puppy. "Why are you ignoring me? I've been listening and studying hard every day!"

Without Fu Yao, he might actually go crazy!
