[New Story Coming Soon! Please Add to Your Collection! The Fake Heiress Goes Viral Through Metaphysics Livestreams]

Gu Qingyue, a 21st-century criminal profiler, is revived in someone else's body and finds herself in a Republican-era novel about a real and fake heiress. She has become the fake heiress who usurped the real one's place, and, to make matters worse, she's suspected of murder.

To find the real culprit who killed the original owner of her body, she sets out to uncover the truth.

At first:

Wei Changyin, the chief of the police department, thinks little of her.

He waves her off and indulgently tells his subordinates, “She's just a little girl getting her detective fix. Let her have at it!”

Later

Wei Changyin is led to the gallows. Looking at the girl approaching against the light, tears stream down his aged face.

“Thank you, girl, for clearing my name!”

The rich young ladies and society wives are waiting to see the useless fake heiress become the biggest joke of the year.

But then:

The Xinhua News Agency: Congratulations to Mr. Qingchen on winning this year's Best New Author Award. She has spoken up for women and awakened the minds of millions upon millions of our fellow women.

Society ladies and young women: So my divine, amazing author is actually that useless fake heiress?

At a lavish cruise-ship party, a serial killer lurks among the crowd, killing at random. The dignitaries and nobles are all on edge.

Until

Gu Qingyue steps forward, risking her life to face off against the gambler, and wins everyone aboard a chance to survive.

High society is left dumbfounded: OMG, so she's the legendary Detective Gu, who can see right through people at a glance.

Gu Qingyue fears nothing as she rises to the top and serves up face-slapping, until she meets that detective, who is also her inhumane, black-hearted employer.

Before they fall in love:

Gu Qingyue: Boss, can I clock out today?

Ji Nanxi: Clock out? The contract clearly says you're on duty 24 hours a day, with no days off.

After they fall in love:

Gu Qingyue finally can't hold back her complaint. “Mr. Detective, could you please not take me to a crime scene for our next date?

I really can't take it. I know you find it romantic.

It's your first time solving a case, after all. But I'd like something a little more normal.”

A clever, decisive heroine who occasionally gets flustered vs. a scheming, painfully straightforward hero

A witty girlfriend who shines on her own and thinks she's the most beautiful, and her hapless boyfriend whose thought process is always beyond the norm.

“Spouting nonsense, pretending to perform magic, then taking the money and living it up. We're the suckers paying for you. Give me a break!”

Not long afterward

“Ahhh! Master, thank you so much! If you hadn't stopped me just now, I'd be meeting the King of Hell by now!”
