My Ex-Husband, Who Abandoned His Wife and Child, Isn't Human!

On a stormy night,

Qi Jingnian's ex-husband, who had left him three years ago, abandoning his husband and child, came back.

He was still wearing the suit he'd had on the day he left, its dark-red patterns clearly visible. He held a huge black umbrella that covered half of his peerlessly handsome face.

His blood-red eyes lifted slightly, and his thin lips parted. "Long time no see. I'm back."

After a long moment of staring at each other, Qi Jingnian looked away first, scooped up his meowing, well-behaved son, and slammed the door shut.

A moment later, Qi Jingnian, with his back against the door, clicked his tongue, then opened it again with a dark expression.

He lowered his reddened eyes and his gaze, then forced a smile. "Long time no see. Come in."

Qi Jingnian realized that ever since Pei Yuchi came back, everything at home had started going wrong.

Mysterious fog appeared out of nowhere. A red moon would occasionally loom over the villa. A city would suddenly appear, then vanish. A bloodcurdling scream would sometimes seep out of the garden. A blurry figure appeared in the bedroom mirror. A vivid blood-red mark appeared on his wrist. And a black vortex could be glimpsed behind Pei Yuchi.

Oh, he almost forgot. His cat son had started talking, too.

Well... it seemed his ex-husband wasn't human!

Everyone in Lincheng knew that Qi Jingnian was a madman. It had taken him only three years to take over the business empire Pei Yuchi had built single-handedly over seven years. Rumor had it he was temperamental, ruthless, and terrifying enough to stop a child crying in the middle of the night. Anyone who approached him with an ulterior motive met a terrible end.

Until one day, people noticed that the big shot had started making a show of bringing his cat son to all the major banquets. Whenever he went out, he carried a black umbrella and smiled faintly, while his eyes, usually capable of killing a man, were filled with tenderness and affection.

Well, the big shot had gone even crazier.

Little bonus scene.

On a two-meter-wide bed, Qi Jingnian tied a red string around Pei Yuchi's pinky finger, lifted his chin, and asked, "What are you?"

Pei Yuchi gently took hold of Qi Jingnian's wrist and slowly kissed away the drops of blood on it. His crimson lips moved as he said, "Baby, I'm not a thing. I'm your husband!"

I crossed countless mountains and rivers to return to your side. How could I bear to let go of your fingertips again?
