The Lost Life of Immortal Ji Shunde

Ruling believed she was the most exalted celestial princess in all the world. Her younger brother, Rujun, was the Heavenly Sovereign, ruler of all creation, and adored and depended on her. Her master, Ning Qing, was a powerful immortal master who cherished and indulged her without limit. Her favor and status were unmatched, and all under heaven should bow to her.

Until an ambitious subordinate used her to undermine the immortal master's rule and exposed the truth: she was nothing but a stand-in for someone her master had once loved. The Heavenly Sovereign and the immortal master had long been secretly battling over power, and Rujun saw her as a pawn he could discard at any time for the sake of the throne.

After her brother's followers slashed her face, and her master tormented her with devouring parasitic insects to heal it, Ruling seized her chance and killed Ning Qing, absorbing all his spiritual power. She would take revenge on everyone.

But in the end, she lost. In her final moments, as her life ebbed away, she heard her brother's false show of grief and the consolation offered by his follower, Ji Yunhe. She said, “Since ancient times, evil has never triumphed over good. The Heavenly Sovereign is merciful, so there is no need to grieve too deeply. Perhaps some family members are calamities we are destined to face.”

Ruling could not help laughing in furious disbelief. Yes, she had used her own body to shield him when he was a child. But when she became a “calamity” that threatened to strengthen his rule, he would kill her in the name of delivering justice.

Does good really triumph over evil?

Does justice win, or do the victors write it?

Ruling opened her eyes in a forest. This time, she would be the one to write “justice.”
