Lin Nanxing is an animal keeper. The zoo where he has worked for five years has gone bankrupt, and Lin Nanxing has no choice but to pack up and leave. Armed with his resume, he bows and scrapes as he looks for a job everywhere.

After months of hitting dead ends, he finally gets an offer.

Great pay, little work, and a long annual leave allowance. It's practically a dream job for any wage slave! Lin Nanxing grins from ear to ear and rushes to the address on the offer that very night.

When he gets there and looks up, he freezes.

Lin Nanxing originally thinks he's been scammed, but after officially starting the job, he discovers that it actually seems pretty great.

The animals of the anomalous world may look fierce, but they're absolutely devoted to their keepers.

Lin Nanxing has always loved fluffy things, and after spending enough time around them, he starts to think the monsters are actually pretty cute, too.

A giant, furry spider as tall as a three-story building! I'll feed it!

A red-eyed rabbit whose bite causes madness! I'll feed it, feed it!

A night-crying wolf that prowls after dark and eats children! I'll feed it, feed it, feed it!

Feeding! Treating illnesses! Trimming hooves!

With five years of experience as an animal keeper and maxed-out professional skills, Lin Nanxing wears an apron and rubber boots, carries a bucket full of raw meat, and dashes between one dungeon and another, busy and happy every day.

Lin Nanxing sincerely feels that as long as the job provides pension insurance, he can keep working there until retirement.

Players taking on challenges in the anomalous world have recently run into a problem.

They've noticed that the monsters in the dungeons seem to have hit a growth spurt.

The monsters are full of energy every day, with glossy coats, and the dungeons have become much harder to clear.

When the monsters catch players, they don't even bother eating them. They just kick them around like a ball, then slap them away once they're bored.

We'd rather die than suffer this humiliation!

After investigating in depth, one player finally uncovers the root of the problem and angrily sets out to teach Lin Nanxing a lesson.

But when they find him, they discover that the most unfathomable evil god in the entire anomalous world has taken the form of a giant black serpent and is protecting Lin Nanxing.

The serpent lashes its tail, making mountains and sky tremble. The players shake like leaves!

Completely unaware of what's going on, Lin Nanxing turns around and rubs the tip of his nose in confusion.

What's wrong with these people?

And why are they all staring at the homeless little snake he picked up in the anomalous world?
