Yu Sheng's Heartbeat

The law of "I take it all back": a slow burn that will have you hooked.

Blurb:

To outsiders, Lu Sheng was gentle and graceful. For the first 25 years of her life, she thought so too.

Until one rainy night in a dimly lit alley, a man appeared and helped her out of a tight spot. Before leaving, he propped his black, straight-handled umbrella against the wall.

"Stay safe." His deep, resonant voice, set against the night, landed in her ears, quiet yet deafening.

It also stirred up a huge wave in her heart.

That was when Lu Sheng realized that there was a demon living deep within her.

As the youngest professor at the law school, Nan Huaijing made all the female students at the university go wild just with his face, never mind his overly strict teaching style.

When he wasn't teaching, he was graceful and distinguished, with a gentle appearance. But the moment he stepped up to the lectern, he was as stern and impartial as the law.

Nan Huaijing, who had always held himself to the strictest standards, never imagined he would one day be "pursued" by a woman.

After a full thirty-two years of living a chaste life and keeping women at a gentlemanly distance of an arm's length, he never expected a demon to drop into his life. She smiled at him, and he found himself craving a taste of the earthly pleasures of life with her.

A few tips for readers:

1. Bringing the unattainable down from his pedestal / love at first sight / deliberate pursuit

2. Both leads are virgins / six-year age gap / push and pull / sweet romance

3. The heroine's flirting isn't conventional flirting. She has her own way of doing things

4. The hero pursues his wife in the middle part

5. If you're halfway through and considering giving up, hang in there. It gets better and better!

6. Don't say the hero's name is the same as someone else's. The pronunciation and characters are different. Don't force a comparison.
