Real Sweet Husband x Fake Sweet Wife
Blurb:
An He transmigrates into a book and becomes a doomed female side character who has a sham marriage with the villain.
When she opens her eyes, she's lying in a hospital bed, and the villain's long-fingered hand is resting on her oxygen mask.
Seeing her wake up, the villain pauses, then explains in an indifferent tone:
"You'd been stuffy for a while, so I helped you get some air."
If he wants her dead, he could at least be more direct. An He feels that her future is looking bleak.
Weakly, she says, "Thanks. You're so nice, huh."
So An He's first priority after transmigrating becomes staying alive.
No big deal. She just has to play the role of a sweet wife who doesn't love him but does her duty. She can do that.
She's optimistic:
When in Rome, right? She's already transmigrated. What else can she do?
Confident:
Don't kill her yet. She has plenty of virtues, and he'd be missing out if he didn't see them for himself.
She's frugal:
Does this marriage contract come with a paycheck?
Hardworking:
She won't bother him, but she'll check in now and then. Mainly to see if he's dead, and whether she'll still get paid.
She's kind:
After realizing the villain is a little strange, she often feels worried. (After all, his mental state directly affects her chances of survival.)
Polite:
He really is strange. Is he all right?
She's brave:
In front of the scowling villain, she redirects the conflict by complaining about her current salary, convinced that her excellent performance deserves a bonus.
She's hardworking and devoted to the home:
She uses her professional skills to make sweeping renovations to the marital home.
Song He stares at his vanished bedroom and study, then at the new walk-in closet and cat room An He has added: ...?
She's good at communicating:
She argues back to Song He, quite reasonably, that since he never comes back to live here, there's no point leaving the room empty.
You understand space efficiency, right?
At first, Song He is relieved to see that his wife by contract has suddenly become sensible and stopped harboring inappropriate fantasies about him.
Later:
Song He: Why isn't "loving him" one of her virtues?
Content warnings:
- The oxygen tube incident is a misunderstanding. The male lead isn't, and doesn't want to be, a murderer.
- Both leads transmigrate. The male lead comes from a matriarchal world.
- An absurd, fluffy rom-com. The male lead gets bullied by the female lead, so proceed with caution if that's not your thing!
