Yu Tang transmigrated into the 1980s, into the home of a wealthy family. Before she had time to enjoy even a few peaceful days, a girl who'd come all the way from the countryside exposed her as a fake heiress.
Yu Tang: Yikes. A fake heiress and a real heiress. So cliche.
What was even more dramatic was that both girls were of marriageable age and already engaged.
Yu Tang was supposed to marry her father's friend's son in a month. He was gentle, considerate, wealthy, influential, refined, and handsome.
Meanwhile, the real heiress had been engaged by her parents to a man from her village. He was strong, made a living farming, and his family owned a fishpond.
Since the two prospective husbands were so different, the real heiress's parents naturally couldn't let her keep marrying a poor country boy with no prospects, not after finally finding their daughter.
So...
Yu Tang hastily packed her things and went to the countryside, despite her adoptive parents' objections, to swap fiances with the real heiress.
The real heiress would marry the son of Yu Tang's father's friend.
And Yu Tang would marry that rough country man.
Well, well, I knew life in the 1980s couldn't be all sunshine and roses after transmigrating here. (shrugs.jpg)

After Ji Changfeng got engaged to Li Chunfang, he was quite pleased.
Li Chunfang was quick and capable, and did everything well. She seemed like someone he could build a good life with.
He happily waited for her to come marry him, but a few days later, after finishing his farmwork and carrying his hoe home, he found a girl with porcelain-pale skin and beautiful features, as if she'd stepped out of a painting, standing by his gate. She told him she'd come to swap fiances. Li Chunfang had found her birth family in the city and was going to marry someone there.
Ji Changfeng was dumbfounded.
He looked her up and down. However he looked at her, she seemed delicate and weak, like a porcelain doll. She couldn't carry a shoulder pole or lift a thing. She didn't look capable of doing any work. H-how could she compare to Li Chunfang?
And, sure enough, she was just like that.
Building a courtyard wall made her strain her hand. Picking fruit scraped her hand. Even lighting a fire almost burned the house down.
She was also lazy, summoning him to do everything. He had to prepare her bathwater in advance and make the meals ahead of time. Even when it came to that sort of thing, she was so fussy she directed him, then rolled over and called a stop as soon as she got tired, leaving him a sweaty, disheveled mess, grinding his teeth in frustration.
He should have disliked her, but somehow... damn it, she had him wrapped around her little finger.
And for this pampered woman, he developed an even stronger desire to make money.
He was going to earn a fortune! Give her lots and lots of money to spend! He wanted her to keep living the same comfortable life she'd had in the city, even with him! His wife deserved it!

Li Chunfang was glad she'd come to the city and found her birth parents. Not only did she have a wealthy family backing her, she also had a husband with a stable job and a secure government position.
Although she and her husband had little in common due to their different levels of education, and weren't very close after marriage, she believed she had at least done better than Yu Tang, who'd gone to the countryside to marry Ji Changfeng.
She felt a little schadenfreude. Ji Changfeng was a lazy loafer. If she hadn't wanted to avoid marrying him, why would she have traveled a thousand miles to find her family in the city?
But the following New Year, Yu Tang and Ji Changfeng came by train to visit her adoptive parents, carrying bag after bag and looking bright and spirited. He was handsome, she was beautiful.
Li Chunfang had not only heard that Ji Changfeng had gone into business and was thriving, with his life getting better and better, but also saw him carefully pick the bones from Yu Tang's fish at the dinner table and tenderly feed it to her, his eyes full of warmth and devotion.
The sight of them so deeply in love left Li Chunfang in disbelief.
Was this really Ji Changfeng?!
When Li Chunfang finally came to her senses, she tried to put on a show of affection with her own husband. But when she turned her head, she found him staring blankly at Yu Tang too.
After a year away in the countryside, how had Yu Tang gotten even more beautiful?!
Rough country man male lead x pampered beauty female lead
Important note: A sweet, romance-focused story, with everything in service of the plot. This is my take on a period piece. Feel free to read it as an alternate setting. Thank you, loves. Kisses.

The Soft Beauty Marries a Stern Butcher [The 1980s] by Lu Deng Deng

Yu Hua transmigrated into the 1980s and became a newlywed.
Her husband was a butcher.
The butcher was stern, broad-backed and narrow-waisted, and a man of few words. There was a scar on his face that made children cry and village girls afraid.
The day before she transmigrated, the original owner had refused to marry him and gone on a hunger strike. She'd looked at the scar on his face with disgust and called him an ugly freak, saying he couldn't compare to the handsome man she loved.
Yu Hua thought the original owner had terrible taste. No wonder she was a love-struck simp.
This butcher was strong and muscular, stern yet thoughtful and gentle. He had the whole big, burly man with a nurturing side thing going on. Wasn't he much better than the scumbag she was in love with, who was as skinny as a chick?
She thought the butcher was exactly her type.
*
The butcher was nearly thirty and still unmarried. The scar on his face really was frightening, but he had never wanted to marry anyone, so he didn't care.
Yu Hua had a bad reputation in the village, but she was his childhood betrothed, so the butcher agreed to marry her at the request of her parents.
He hadn't expected her to put him through every kind of torment, then point at his face and call him ugly.
With a dark expression, he decided he would send her home the next day. But the following morning, she seemed like a completely different person.
Not only had she stopped talking endlessly about the man she loved, she was staring right at him.
She took the chance to touch him all over...
She even clung to him and acted coquettishly, smiling at him with eyes full of affection.
She made him delicious food, and...
In the night, amid ragged breathing, the woman leaned in and kissed the scar on his cheek. She didn't show the slightest disgust, and hugged him tight, smiling happily. "You're so manly. That's a badge of honor."
The stern butcher, who was usually so composed, blushed bright red at her teasing.
He didn't know what "manly" meant...
But he knew he was done for.
From now on, he would have to work even harder to make money. He had to support his family and provide for his sweet, delicate wife.
Theme: Every life is great
[Orange Candy] I got a good meal and picked out the meat to eat. In fact, I wanted to watch a modern side story, a rich second-generation lady x a country man who just traveled through time or a poor man working N jobs, hehe
Don't finish it quickly, write slowly and slowly. I want to read the story of the bankrupt lady and the nouveau riche! Qwq
I like cats and dogs ~ Keep up the good work
But these are two Yu Tangs
Is the Tangtang who got married later in 1.0 The original owner, or is he the Tangtang who came through? Hey, I always struggle to read similar articles.
Write more, write more, I love watching and tossing 1.0
I like this if! Dead hand, write quickly!!!!!!!
Can there be an animal-like extra? 🥺 🥺 🥺
I really like 🐰🐰 Congratulations on the completion
