Crossing the Azure

"Lin Qingqing."

The handsome general, his face smeared with red blood, struggled to give her a faint smile. "If you meet me in your next life, run as fast as you can. The way we died together was just too ugly."

After Lin Qingqing became a wandering ghost, she often thought of Lin Zhengdu.

She lowered her head and touched her chest. The pain still lingered there.

She watched helplessly as Lin Zhengdu's corpse was brutally torn away from hers, and watched the Crown Prince hold her dead body and weep tears of blood.

Lin Qingqing couldn't feel anything.

She had become a bystander.

Her body was cremated, and her ashes were ground into a string of beads. She became a ghost, bound to the Crown Prince's side.

She watched him get everything he wanted and claim the supreme imperial throne.

Then she opened her eyes and found herself back in the past.

Xie Fei'an often dreamed of a dirty little beggar with an indistinct face, thin as a sickly kitten and utterly pitiful.

In the dream, people would grab the little beggar by the hair and beat her. He watched from the sidelines, unable to do anything. He didn't even know her, yet his heart ached terribly for her.

Later, the dream became reality, and he gladly reached out to help the little girl.
