When Su Qian was 14, she was attacked by an unknown assailant at her family's Medicine King Temple. Fortunately, someone dropped from the sky and came to her rescue.
Her savior was aloof and peerlessly beautiful, noble and proud, with nimble movements and long, flowing hair. He looked nothing like a man of this era.
Su Qian stared at his stunning face, her lashes fluttering as an idea came to her:
She wanted to touch his beautiful phoenix eyes.
Not long afterward, she saw him again on TV. He was the 18-year-old leader of the boy band The One, named Fang Shi.
A few years later, Su Qian stood before Fang Shi, facing him as a contestant in a talent competition. He was one of the judges.
His personality matched his appearance: aloof to the core, keeping everyone at a distance.
Just as Su Qian was getting discouraged, thinking he would treat her the same way, Fang Shi turned all his attention to her.
His gaze was intense. Throughout the whole performance, his eyes never left her.
It was also then that rumors about Su Qian and Fang Shi spread like wildfire.
The way he looked at someone, as if taking them into his heart, was so focused and profound that even Su Qian wondered if there was something between them that they couldn't talk about.
Just as her heart began to race, Fang Shi found her and asked, "The Medicine King Su family? Do you still have the immortal herb?"
Su Qian: ...So he was after her family's herbs.
Wait! How did he know her family had an immortal herb?!
She vaguely remembered that the herb had been passed down by her ancestors, and that every generation of the Su family had waited for the envoy to return.
They still had no idea who the envoy was...

They say that 1,800 years ago, Xu Fu was sent overseas by Qin Shi Huang to seek the elixir of immortality, and never returned.
But that wasn't what really happened.
After enduring countless hardships, Xu Fu actually brought back an immortal herb. However, it was not yet mature and looked no different from an ordinary weed.
Qin Shi Huang personally selected a family of traditional medicine practitioners to cultivate it. He ordered their descendants to guard it from generation to generation, awaiting the envoy who would come to retrieve it in the distant future.
On that same day, Xu Fu opened a time-space formation and sent the only man in the entire country who met the requirements to retrieve the herb...
