At the Baiying Awards ceremony, Shi Zhao, a popular contender for Best Newcomer, showed up in a sharp black suit. The red-carpet host asked, "Is there any special thought behind today's outfit?"
Shi Zhao answered the camera with a straight face: "The special thought is that it'll be convenient for me to ride my bike home."
The audience and the comments section erupted with laughter, and the host praised Shi Zhao for being funny.
A few hours later, after the awards ceremony ended, a camera caught Shi Zhao, now the winner of Best Newcomer, riding a pink little electric scooter through a crowd of luxury cars.
Everyone: ???
Shi Zhao: I told you I wasn't lying. (

After Shi Zhao transmigrated into a book, she was bound to a System called Celebrity Charity. Most of a celebrity's income had to be transferred into a charity account for public welfare, and the amount depended on the value of their work.
So Shi Zhao honed her acting skills, while also...
Building a side business
On her first day on set, Shi Zhao knocked on Best Actor Jiang Xu's door late at night. "Teacher Jiang, would you like some tea?"
Jiang Xu thought this was some new kind of code. With a grim expression, he turned her away and called the director. "She knocks on my door in the middle of the night wanting to sleep with me, and this is the promising, high-quality actress you told me about?"
Director: "Shi Zhao wants to sleep with you? No way. What did she say?"
Jiang Xu: "She asked if I wanted some tea."
Director: ...
So, is it possible that Shi Zhao really just wanted to sell you some tea?

Word got around about Shi Zhao's years of dedication to her side businesses, and quite a few antis used it to criticize her for pretending to be poor and cultivating a fake image.
In response, the tech industry mogul, rising star in architecture, literary genius, and rising star in investment circles whom she had supported all came out to speak up for her.
The national charity disclosure platform also posted in her support:
"Ms. Shi has donated over 984.38 million yuan through our platform, the highest cumulative personal donation total in the country."
A few days later, China's crewed mission to land on Pluto was successfully completed. In his closing remarks, Luo An, the first person in the world to set foot on Pluto, took out a photo of himself and Shi Zhao from their youth.
"I also want to give special thanks to Ms. Shi Zhao, who has always helped me. Without her, I wouldn't be where I am today. Sister Shi Zhao, look, I really did it!"
Antis: ...
I was such a damn fool not to have been a Shi Zhao fan from the start.
