The Pallas's Cat Raises Cubs for Free on the Wasteland

Yuan Mo wakes up to discover he's become a mother painlessly. Three scruffy, fluffy little cubs gather around him, whimpering.

Mom, I'm hungry.

Mom, we're really hungry. When can we get something to eat?

Their tiny tongues, rough with little barbs, lick him until he's dizzy. For a moment, the fluffy warmth overwhelms his senses.

How could he let the kittens go hungry?

His blood surges, and he suddenly gets to his feet.

Ow!

It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!

Yuan Mo feels his empty stomach, then looks at the whitish wound on his hind leg and falls into deep thought.

So what is he supposed to do now...?

Three hungry mouths to feed, plus a sick patient with an empty stomach. Can they really survive?

.

Relying on years of watching survival shows and his willingness to take whatever he can get, Yuan Mo leads the three cubs across the wilderness like a shameless freebie hunter.

Free stuff! We'll take anything!

Look, that eagle caught a sheep. We can go pick up the leftovers later. Look, that marmot is digging a burrow. Once it's finished, we can move in. Hey, this is wolf territory. If we live here, surely no predators will dare come near...?

Uh, well...

Yuan Mo has just eaten his fill and stuck half his little head out of the cave when a wolf five times his size gives him a fright.

He stares in shock at those green eyes for five seconds, then pops his head right back inside.

The tiny cave erupts into chaos.

Yuan Mo hurriedly gathers the little Pallas's cats who had just woken up and were about to go outside to play, holding them close as he mutters reassurances to himself.

It's okay, it's okay. Pallas's cats aren't on a wolf's menu. It's no big deal...

Damn, it's been a whole day and night. Aren't you hungry, big brother Wolf?

If you're not hungry, fine, but we're starving!

.

Later, all the animals on the wasteland hear a piece of gossip.

Hey, did you hear? There's a young wolf who got kicked out of its pack and is raising four Pallas's cats.

Huh? Pallas's cats? Why?

No idea. Look, there they are!

Amid the lush grasslands, a gray wolf lies belly-up. Among its fluffy fur, a few little cats can be seen frolicking.

Huh? You wonder how a wolf can survive alone in the wilderness?

Come on! It's got a genius strategist with it, doesn't it? That Pallas's cat is amazing!
