Before he turned twenty, Xu Min always thought he was the happiest rich second-generation heir in the world.
His parents were both alive and well. He had no siblings, no need to scheme against anyone, and no inheritance to fight over.
As he watched his friends tear themselves apart competing for their family fortunes, Xu Min spent his days at home painting and gardening, living a wonderfully carefree life.
Just when he thought he could happily coast through life forever, his father suddenly brought home a stranger.
Xu's father: Xiao Min, there's something Dad never got around to telling you.
Xu Min: ?
Xu's father: You were accidentally switched at birth. He's our biological son.
Xu Min: !!!
So many years had passed that the family who had raised the other child had long since vanished without a trace. But after all those years together, the Xu family still kept Xu Min by their side.
Overnight, he went from being the family's darling to a clown who had stolen someone else's identity and status. Xu Min shut himself away.
Watching the real young master return to the family and go in and out of the company every day, the young master who had spent twenty years eating his fill and waiting to die finally couldn't sit still.
His father was in charge of the company for now, so he could just about hang on. But what about a few years from now?
What if Feng Yao became chairman and kicked the fake young master who had taken his place for twenty years out of the house?
No, he couldn't just sit around and wait for it to happen!
From that day on, the Xu family was astonished to see their easygoing youngest son, who usually did nothing but act cute and charming, suddenly become proactive.
First, he put on a smart, elegant little suit and said he wanted to go to the company with Feng Yao to learn the ropes.
Then he took out his sketchpad and drew a portrait of every family member, delighting them all.
He even tied on an apron and started baking, bringing his adopted older brother sweet little cookies every day...
Xu's father was overjoyed. "Look, honey. Our two sons get along so well. All those things we worried about before were completely unnecessary."
As he watched Feng Yao's attitude toward him soften little by little, Xu Min couldn't help getting a little cocky.
"So what if we're not blood-related? Look at your brothers. Is any of them as good to me as Feng Yao is?"
His friends, whom he had just mocked, were furious and embarrassed. "Hmph, keep bragging. No matter what you say, you two aren't family!"
Xu Min never imagined those words would reach his older brother's ears so quickly.
That night, as usual, he took some cookies to knock on his brother's door.
Before he could say a word, someone pulled him inside.
When he was suddenly wrapped in someone's arms, Xu Min froze completely.
A deep voice sounded beside his ear. "Xiao Min, I know a way for us to become a proper family, in name as well as in fact."
Feeling the hand around his waist, Xu Min was utterly dumbfounded.
Wait! I wanted us to get along better, but I never meant to get myself involved too!
