Qi Yan glanced up and sneered. "I'm not afraid the Crown Prince will lose control after drinking and give me something to hold over him!"
"Then let's see which of us loses control!"
Ye Jingming raised his hand and drained the cup.
"Your Majesty! Something terrible has happened! The Crown Prince and General of the Northern Garrison are fighting!"
"What!" The emperor jolted upright from his dragon bed. When he hurried to the Eastern Palace, the sight before him nearly made his eyes roll back!
The two men were disheveled, bare from the waist up, with embroidered silk bedding wrapped around their waists. Ye Jingming straddled Qi Yan, fighting through his discomfort as he held a dagger to Qi Yan's throat.
Qi Yan glared back at him just as fiercely, a short sword pointed at Ye Jingming's chest.
The Emperor of Daqian braced himself against a carved wooden table and pointed at the two on the bed with a trembling finger, furious. "I told you to get along! I didn't tell you to get together!"
Ye Jingming had always disliked Qi Yan, and Qi Yan felt the same way. Neither knew when they had begun to fall for each other.
Ye Jingming had been spoiled since childhood and had always gotten whatever he wanted. For the first time, he set aside his status to pursue the person who had captured his heart.
But whenever Ye Jingming took a step forward, Qi Yan took one back.
Qi Yan: "Your Highness, please behave with dignity."
Ye Jingming: "I haven't even taken your clothes off."
