The Heiress Will Never Admit Defeat!

Gu Huaijin wakes up to discover that she has become the namesake cannon-fodder second female lead in a campus novel.

The heroine is a hugely popular campus goddess with excellent grades. She signs up for an observational reality show, where she shows off her many talents and wins the affection of the campus heartthrobs and the public.

The male lead is her aloof and unattainable fiance, Fu Jingbai.

And Gu Huaijin is the heroine's bad-tempered, bottom-of-the-class desk mate, her foil. Born with a silver spoon as the heiress of a wealthy family, she becomes universally despised for constantly making trouble and sabotaging others in her desperate attempts to get the male lead's attention.

After the reality show airs, the heroine becomes an overnight sensation, rising to fame as the nation's beloved little sister.

Meanwhile, Gu Huaijin is cyberbullied, and her family gets dragged into it too. She ultimately meets a tragic end.

After awakening to the truth, Gu Huaijin thinks: Ha! So I'm the foil desk mate, am I?

When the new season of the reality show airs, the viewers who used to focus on the heroine are all drawn to Huaijin instead:

"Whoa, am I seeing things? Is Gu Huaijin actually the top student in the whole school this time?"

"Oh my god, Gu Huaijin went from last place to first place in the whole school. She's my role model!"

"Why is Fu Jingbai looking for my girl again? Stop bothering her while she's studying!!"

Fu Jingbai has never liked Gu Huaijin, the fiancee chosen for him by his family.

But once she stops looking his way, he finds himself feeling out of sorts about everything.

Fu Jingbai notices that Gu Huaijin, who used to behave so wildly and disgust him, has become remarkably quiet lately.

When he wins the basketball championship, she's studying in the classroom.

When he comes to the entrance of her classroom, she's unmoved by his presence and even quietly takes a step back.

Fu Jingbai: ?

Later, he finally recognizes his feelings. On a school day with rain pouring down, he plans to confess to Gu Huaijin.

But a long, strong hand pushes aside the umbrella tilting toward her.

The friend who grew up with her has already drawn Gu Huaijin into his arms protectively.

"Get lost. You're not good enough for her."
