A note before you start: This book was reported back when I first wrote it, and I had to make so many changes to get it approved, especially in the middle and later sections. It was basically edited until only three of its seven souls remained. Thank you for liking it, but the story really has lost something, so please be cautious before diving in. If you’re still interested, feel free to take a look.
.
As Great Cang and Changdan negotiate for peace, Li Xi, who was framed, defeated, and captured, is allowed to return to Changdan as a gesture of goodwill.
Beneath the steps of green jade, Li Xi removes his boots and hairpin, then kowtows step by step. His knees are already bloody, yet the old emperor still doesn’t tell him to rise.
His father despises him, his mother has died, and his brothers fight among themselves. Li Xi has traveled thousands of miles from Great Cang back to Changdan, only to return from one tiger’s den to another wolf’s lair.
His ambition and schemes are concealed beneath a timid, docile exterior. The emperor is gravely ill, and imperial power has fallen into the hands of the eunuch Pei Huaien, who acts with arrogant, unchecked authority at court.
Looking at the powerful eunuch in crimson robes beside the throne, Li Xi’s eyes are dark and unreadable.
-
To shore up his power and position, Pei Huaien chooses Li Xi, the most timid and easiest to control, from among the several princes desperately trying to win him over. He personally puts Li Xi on the throne.
But he never expects the little puppet to ascend the throne and turn from a lamb into a wolf in an instant, baring claws and fangs at him.
In this struggle, piled high with bones, the young emperor uses both kindness and authority, reason and thunderous force, and showers him with favor. Little by little, the man who once moved the pieces becomes a willing pawn and blade in the emperor’s hand.
The viperous powerful eunuch Pei Huaien x the sweet, soft-hearted Li Xi. One-on-one, happy ending.
“Break the bones in my body, and make me the blade in your hand.”
/Please read before starting/
1. The top is a real eunuch. He uses his hands and props. The pairing can be split up, but not reversed.
2. In his early, powerless years, the top was a bottom for many people, including the bottom’s father and second older brother.
3. They’re not each other’s first. Before meeting the bottom, the top frequently changed partners. He’s a crazed sadist who’ll do anything to achieve his goals.
4. The bottom seems soft and adorable, but he’ll cut down the top, his father, and his husband. He prioritizes his own safety and interests in everything, and is occasionally pretty nasty.
5. This isn’t a serious political drama. It’s a fairy tale about a couple getting together, with a genuine love-hate relationship in the middle and a very old-school, over-the-top melodramatic feel.
6. The comment sections on some early chapters don’t match the corresponding text because the original characterization of the protagonist wasn’t sufficiently virtuous, so I revised the story to comply with the rules. Please refer to the final posted version for all plot developments. Thank you for understanding.

A recommendation for my friend’s upcoming historical danmei novel, My Junior Uncle Has Defected Again, by Yan Qingyao. Here’s the blurb:
Jing Anyan is the empress’s younger brother, born into a prominent family and handsome, with swordsmanship that amazes the world. He is Great Wei’s most dashing and renowned young gentleman.
Everyone says his future is limitless. Once he reaches adulthood and enters the imperial court, he’s bound to achieve great things.
But on the eve of his coming-of-age ceremony, Jing Anyan breaks the emperor’s own gifted sword, injures his fellow disciples, and officially declares his defection from Great Wei. He flees to the southern borderlands, where he vanishes for a full ten years.
-
Ten years later, a new emperor ascends the throne, and chaos engulfs the southern borderlands.
Everyone knows who lives there, yet the former empress, now empress dowager, still holds power over the inner palace. No one at court dares answer the call, unable to guess what the higher-ups are thinking.
During the standoff, Feng Heng, once Jing Anyan’s junior nephew-disciple and now the heir to all his swordsmanship, boldly volunteers to lead the army south and reclaim the borderlands.
-
Over the past ten years, Feng Heng has imagined countless times what he would say when he and Jing Anyan met again.
He loves him, misses him, longs for him, and wants to know the truth behind his defection.
But in the end, he says nothing. Somehow, they end up in bed instead.
-
When the storm has passed, Feng Heng looks at the man whose face has not changed at all and softly asks, “Will you run away again?”
Jing Anyan shakes his head.
Feng Heng smiles and falls asleep in peace.
When he opens his eyes again, the space beside him is empty.
Feng Heng: ...
I’d sooner believe in ghosts than trust a word from Jing Anyan’s lying mouth!
Junior Uncle, you’d better not fall into my hands again.
Message: Keep your aspirations alive, even in adversity.
I really like the character of the eldest princess, but it's hard to really hate the female villains of the feudal era. After all, human nature has been distorted under the system. What they fight for is what they see. If there is freedom, who wants to be a housewife?
Finish spreading flowers
Xiaohua and Liuliu last forever!
Update another 200 chapters to make the bonus episode as long as the main text (start to dream)]
The setting is novel and interesting, and it looks pretty good. Even if Shi Qi died with such a knife, it would not be reasonable. (The governor is blind in one eye, which means those who imitate him have to get a prosthetic eye, which is quite difficult. No matter how disguised the governor is after changing his identity, one eye will be a prosthetic eye. I can only talk about the authority of the emperor. If you say that you are really dead, you are really dead. Then Seventeen does not have to die. But everyone has different opinions, and overall it is a good article.)
Wuhu, if line is good
I'm convinced, this trick is too sinister
Help, the factory flower has to stop making trouble.
