A Republican-Era Psychology Prodigy

Modern genius psychologist Lin Xun wakes up to find herself in the Republican era, reborn as Lin Weiyu, the eldest daughter of the Lin family's trading company. She has a pair of eyes that can see through people, allowing her to infer what they are thinking from their microexpressions.

Xu Changfei, an investigator with Yuncheng Police Bureau, meets Lin Weiyu of the Lin trading company aboard a ship traveling from Hong Kong City to the mainland during a mission. From then on, she won't leave him alone.

Little Scene 1:

Lin Weiyu's family arranges a blind date for her with the son of a goldsmith. She gives him a box, hesitating as though she has something to say. He eagerly opens it, only for an ugly toad to leap out and land right on his face.

Furious, he cries, "What is this? What do you mean by giving me this?"

Lin Weiyu smiles calmly. "It's a toad. You don't even recognize one? Don't you think it suits you? You're both toads dreaming of eating swan meat!"

Little Scene 2:

Lin Weiyu learns that Xu Changfei once had an ex he loved desperately. When that ex tries to kidnap her, she goes along without hesitation.

The ex says, "We were together for three years. We know everything about each other. What are you to him?"

Lin Weiyu says, "I'm his present and his future. After today, you'll be nothing but some passerby in his memories."

Lin Weiyu times it perfectly. Before Xu Changfei can arrive, she tears open her own collar and, looking ready to burst into tears, says to him as he enters, "She... she told someone to assault me."

Xu Changfei picks Lin Weiyu up, gives his ex a cold look, and leaves.

His ex is so furious that she spits blood and faints.

Notes: 1. This is a detective story set in an alternate Republican era. There is no angst throughout. I just want to write a lighthearted, sweet Republican-era romance with an HE, mixing the plot and romance together.

2. The heroine is a genius psychologist who loves making trouble and has all the traits of a villainess. She pursues the hero.
