After the Villain Awakens

Xie Jin took a job worth five million. "All right, what does the author want?"

System: "The author hopes you'll turn a melodramatic angst novel into a fluffy romance."

Xie Jin: "?"

System: "More precisely, it's a hilariously over-the-top melodrama with a crematorium arc and a disastrous crash."

Xie Jin: "???"

System: "But the author says you only need to deal with the villain. She can rewrite the male and female leads' parts herself."

Xie Jin: "That sounds doable."

The Rest of Our Lives is a modern-day melodramatic romance with a crematorium arc. It tells the story of a male and female lead who overcome countless hardships to finally get together, though a small complication arises at the very end...

In the original, the villain is an obsessive man who can't have the male lead. He throws countless obstacles in the leads' way. Just as they're about to clear up their misunderstanding and get together, the villain snaps, breaks the male lead's arms and legs, and locks him in a dark room.

And the original female lead is just a frail woman who can't even truss a chicken.

The author couldn't figure out how to resolve the plot, so she had to turn to the Transmigration Management Bureau.

On Xie Jin's first day after transmigrating into the book, the System said, "I have good news and bad news. Which would you like to hear first?"

Xie Jin: "The good news."

System: "The villain has awakened and lost interest in the male lead."

Xie Jin: "What's the bad news?"

System: "The villain's sexual orientation has changed, and she's become interested in the female lead."

Xie Jin: "..."

Later...

Xie Jin: "What are the comments saying?"

System: "'So sweet! Can this story be turned into a girls' love novel?'"

Xie Jin: "...What does the author say?"

System: "The author wants to know if you'd mind playing the protagonist for a while."
