After Becoming the Scummy Alpha in a Substitute Romance

[Main story complete]

Jian Ya transmigrated into a yuri ABO stand-in novel as the scummy Alpha cannon fodder who treated the heroine as a substitute.

In the book, the heroine, Shen Shuyi, is the woman she loves. Because Shen Shuyi's pheromones smell just like those of her scumbag Alpha ex, the scummy Alpha takes her for a replacement, sweet-talks her into marriage, then reveals her true nature after the wedding. When she fails to forcibly mark Shen Shuyi, she mocks her for being nothing but a stand-in. To preserve the scent of her ex, she even cuts out Shen Shuyi's glands with her own hands.

It isn't until Shen Shuyi's destined Alpha appears that she gets help punishing the scummy Alpha, tormenting her until she loses all dignity and wishes she were dead.

The story made Jian Ya want to jump into the book and teach the scumbag with her name a lesson herself.

When she woke up, she really had transmigrated into the book, except... she was the scumbag herself.

Jian Ya: …

Once she accepted reality, she immediately remembered the “Guide to Transmigrating into a Book” that a friend had told her about in her previous life.

Question: What should you do if you really transmigrate into a scumbag beside the protagonist?

Answer: Whatever you do, don't believe the novels when they say you can change the plot and live happily ever after with the protagonist. That's all a lie. Here's what you should do:

First, be nice to the protagonist and redeem yourself.

Second, when the protagonist's destined Alpha appears, jump in a taxi and run. The farther you get from the protagonist, the better.

Jian Ya: ...Got it.

From then on, Jian Ya followed the guide to the letter, staying by Shen Shuyi's side despite her own shamelessness, caring for her devotedly but never crossing the line.

When Shen Shuyi grew suspicious, Jian Ya immediately raised her hands in surrender. “I'm sorry. There's something I haven't told you. I'm allergic to sea-salt-scented pheromones.”

Shen Shuyi, whose pheromones were about to run out of control, her whole body exuding a strong sea-salt scent: ?

After successfully avoiding one disastrous encounter, Jian Ya keeps a close eye on the original plot. She takes meticulous care of Shen Shuyi and helps her build a business, creating a commercial empire together.

Finally, after completing the first step of the guide and preparing to begin the second step by hailing a taxi and running, Jian Ya finds Shen Shuyi blocking her way.

Shen Shuyi: “We've been married for a year, but you've never fulfilled your duties as an Alpha. Mark me tonight.”

Jian Ya carefully reminds her: “Sis, did you forget? I'm really allergic to your pheromones.”

Shen Shuyi: “Jian Ya, has nobody ever told you that what you call an allergy, the redness and stinging all over your body, is actually a normal response to your pheromones running out of control, and that marking me will stop it?”

Jian Ya: “...?”

Coming soon: The Person I Love Hates Me to the Bone

[Blurb told from both characters' perspectives; the main story is in third person]

Seme (Murong Zhao)'s perspective:

I was born with a mission. I live for the people and would sacrifice anything for peace and prosperity.

Later, the rebels grew powerful and ambitious, while my mother held the real power. I had no choice but to kill the entire rebel family.

I defied the opposition and knelt outside my mother's chambers in the rear palace for days. At last, I managed to save her, the person I love most in this life.

From then on, the person I love most hated me to the bone.

Shou (Chunyu Ning)'s perspective:

We grew up together. Beneath the moon, we once held hands and made a wish: one day, she would be empress, and I would be her most trusted minister. I would do everything in my power to support her and keep her realm standing forever.

No matter how difficult that path might be, I would never retreat, because she is the one I love.

Then the woman I loved ordered my whole family killed.

I... had nothing left.

I once thought that from that day on, I would hate her for the rest of my life. Even when she tried to atone by giving me great authority, granting me land, and offering me everything within her power, I still wouldn't forgive her.

But that night, the rebels stormed the palace. As a subject, it was my duty to protect the realm and keep it secure.

A rebel's long sword came toward me. At the last moment, she stepped in front of me, and the blade pierced her chest. Blood trickled down the sword's tip.

The woman I had hated for half my life raised a trembling hand and gently touched my face. A long-absent, relieved smile appeared on her lips. “A Ning, I wish we could go back to when we were children. We had neither power nor status, but we had each other.”

“A Ning, if there is another life...”

If there is another life, I want no power, no riches, no glory. I only want to be an ordinary man, with simple food and a humble cottage, as long as you are by my side.

“Murong Zhao, I regret it too.”
