Ren Yaoyao is a breath of fresh air in Tomato Live's esports section. Not because he's especially good at games, or because people tune in for his skills. There are too few viewers who just want to watch gameplay, so Ren Yaoyao has to take a different approach. He calls everyone "big brother" at full volume during his streams, and has gathered a huge following of fans who ship him with people. They affectionately call him a walking shipping machine: there's no one he can't flirt with, if you can think of them. He has tons of online ships, but in real life, they're all buddies who could become sworn brothers at any moment. This went on for a long time. Then one day, somehow, he became a ship with Yan Zhen!
They even became teammates on the same team. Once they got to the competition, they went from strangers to familiar faces in a single match. Every one of them was one of Ren Yaoyao's dear big brothers.
Ren Yaoyao saw Yan Zhen as his goal, someone he wanted to surpass. But why was this guy so different from how he seemed online?
"You ship yourself with everyone else, but not with me. Do you hate me?"
"Huh?"
"You call everyone else big brother, but not me. Did I do something wrong?"
"What?"
"Why won't you team up with me in-game now that you're on the team? Am I not good enough?"
"Uh?"
Oh my god, where did that aloof male god go? Is this man, practically dripping with the green-tea vibe, really the Yan Zhen I know?
The Honor of Kings setting in this story is partly based on reality and partly made up. I'm a bit timid about it.
