"Amuro, Amuro, I caught that Akai guy and brought him back as a present for you! Are you happy?"

"Amuro, Amuro, I want cake! I want cake, and that's final! If you don't make me some, I'll run away from home!"

Curious and always getting into things, giving mice to his owner as presents, acting like he's the proud owner while the man is just his servant... Chikage has every bad habit a cat could have. And this isn't even an ordinary cat. He has special powers, and can even turn into a six-year-old human child later on, so his destructive power is many times greater than an ordinary cat's.

The man whose real name is Rei Furuya, codename Bourbon, and alias Toru Amuro really wants to throw the cat out today.

Chikage thinks that, as a child raised in the Hall of the Underworld, he knows perfectly well what death is, even though he is an immortal being who is a very long way from dying himself.

He's seen death many, many times: dying of old age, illness, hunger, murder, accidents, and all sorts of strange causes. In the Hall of the Underworld, these are ordinary sights.

"So death is just death! You're sad and scared because you don't know that people really reincarnate after they die, right? Now I've told you, so you won't be sad anymore, will you?"

But Toru Amuro only hesitated, and did not stop grieving. In the end, he simply stroked Chikage's head and said:

"It's all right. Maybe you'll never understand what death means to us humans. But since you've chosen me, I'll do my best to be your guide in human society."

Content warnings:

1. Chikage is an immortal child who is temporarily reincarnated as a cat. Even if he takes human form, he is still a child, and he remains a typical child in both mind and body through the ending. So there is no romance.

2. Since the protagonist is non-human, his values differ somewhat from those of human society. However, Toru Amuro keeps an eye on him, so it shouldn't cause any serious problems.

3. At first, Toru Amuro and Chikage don't get along particularly well. They only find the best way to coexist later on. Chikage also has plenty of personality flaws, but he'll gradually grow.

4. The story begins during the Sherry arc, so many people, including the police academy group and Akemi Miyano, won't be saved. This is not a rescue story. However, since Chikage is a cat reincarnated as a ghostly cat, he may let Zero meet people who have died.

5. This is a Detective Conan-only world, not a crossover, but it does include Magic Kaito content and some fan-made settings. In addition to Conan-style science, there's magic.
