Ayase Yuki was playing a murder-mystery role-playing game when she transmigrated into the world of Detective Conan. She was told to complete missions according to the scripts on a phone app.
Script route:
Mission 1: Graduate from the police academy!
Police academy student with excellent innate skills: ON.
Everyone in Onizuka's class: What did we do in our past lives to end up in the same class as a try-hard this time around?!
Mission 2: Become an idol!
Ayase Yuki held up the employment contract she'd just signed with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
Script: You can always join the force first.
One week later...
Crime in Toto suddenly skyrocketed. The higher-ups at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department ordered an investigation into the cause. A large number of criminals confessed that they wanted to be arrested by Officer Ayase! (Leering like a creep.)
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department: Make her change jobs.
Inspector Megure: "Officer Ayase, you're very capable, but this line of work might not be right for you."
Mission 3: Concert at the Budokan (4/5)
Entertainment headlines: Budokan's jinx? The Explosive Songstress? Rising artist triggers four massive explosions in Tokyo after four consecutive appearances at the Budokan.
National Police Agency: Blocked.jpg
Ayase Yuki: "..."
Script: It's fine. The National Police Agency will come to you.
"The Black Organization has its eye on you. They'll send someone to get close to you. His codename is Bourbon, and he's one of ours."
"How should I cooperate?"
"...Uh, pretend to be lovers."
Story route:
This is a role-playing game where following the script gives you the best experience. By the time Ayase Yuki starts the main quest and uncovers the mystery of her origins, she already knows how to handle the police officers and detectives in her circle.
Everything seems to be going according to plan, but she's not the only one here holding a script. No one ever said they were all on the same side.
One day, Ayase Yuki found the older brother she'd never met. The first time they met, they pointed their guns at each other's foreheads.
The silver-haired young man's eyes were cold: "The one I lost was a younger brother."
Script: Ignore him. The one he lost really was his younger sister? _ ?
At that moment, a familiar figure darted over to her side: "Sorry, Yuki. He's my big brother now. Let me borrow yours first, okay? I'll give him back when I'm done."
Elsewhere, the friend trapped in the Ferris wheel instance sent her a message: "Yuki, if I save this curly-haired officer, there'll be an explosion on your end right away. It'll blow you up. Think about whether you want me to save him."
Curly-haired officer: "??? Please save me, beautiful lady! _(:з)"∠)_"
And then there was her childhood friend, who'd been forcibly sent to America. Now he was shoving the script right in front of her: "You can keep your international romance. This is a world where childhood friends win. The main characters are all following that script, so we..."
A cup of iced coffee splashed down.
The blond waiter at the cafe: "Sorry, my hand slipped." (Smiles.)
In short, this is a story about six murder-mystery role-playing game players who stumble into the world of Detective Conan and fall in love and clash with each other as they play their scripted roles. But at the end of the story, what truth awaits them?
Welcome to the world of Detective Conan, where the script comes first. The answer will be revealed in the final act.
Reader's guide:
1. The murder-mystery players have never encountered the Detective Conan story.
2. Main romance: Ayase Yuki vs. Amuro Tooru.
3. There are tons of original settings. The point of view in the main text isn't fixed, and all six players will probably get their own perspectives.
4. I'm working hard to build up a stockpile of chapters. The story moves at a fairly slow pace, and there will probably be lots of foreshadowing and setup.
Theme: The script may come first, but your own ideas matter more.
