The "precious" and fragile otherfolk, living beings beyond humanity.
They are slaughtered, enslaved, and abused, forced into hiding and barely scraping by... on the brink of extinction.
Who could have known that once, in a world long past...
Angels surrounded God, their soft glow transforming them into an unreachable ideal for humanity;
Shamans' cries echoed across the wilderness, and God's blessings were celebrated around bonfires in song;
A lich awoke upon its throne, as skeletal soldiers surged forth like a storm;
A knight in silver armor upon a white steed pointed his sword ahead...
But even the most beautiful civilizations must eventually decline.
When God vanished into the divine realm, the shamans' bonfires no longer burned, and the lich tyrant's name became nothing but ashes in history... they... or rather, "it"... became what the world called "otherfolk."
Until "they" met them.
The ones who would "save" them.
1. A lich tyrant possessing an alchemy pot X a bard who loves to cook
2. A mutated mermaid who escaped and lives in the sewers X a commoner girl who dreams of becoming a captain
3. A black-armored knight betrayed and turned into a headless horseman X an otherworldly queen who arrives at the "tower" to farm and reclaim the land
[Note]
1. A collection of short stories, each with different protagonists. The stories won't follow the order in the blurb.
2. The story will start in July, with daily updates after launch.
Coming soon, book one
[Female protagonist, no romance] Making a Fortune in the Cat Kingdom (Click to see how she goes from prisoner to millionaire by buttering up cats!)
Shou Xing is great at buttering up cats. Working part-time at a cat cafe, she becomes the most popular human there thanks to her talent for rubbing cats the right way.
Who would have thought that one day she'd open her eyes to find an orange cat face bigger than her own?
The orange cat runs away in terror, not even stopping to pick up its hoe.
Sure, orange cats can crush a bed, but this one is way too big!
Wait, something seems off...
Cat constables armed with weapons drag her to the county yamen.
The cat magistrate interrogates her in court.
An orange cat farmer points her out on the spot...
Shou Xing is thrown in jail as an illegal immigrant for not having travel papers. She needs her country's ambassador to bail her out.
Only now does she understand what happened: she's transmigrated to the Cat Kingdom! But the whole place is full of ancient cats. Where is she supposed to find "her country's ambassador"?!
At last, one day, after eating so much dried fish she's nearly sick of it, Shou Xing hears some news:
The Empress Dowager is in a bad mood and doesn't even like catnip anymore. Now, anyone who can cheer her up will be pardoned, even criminals!
Shou Xing clings to this lifeline and shouts from her prison cell:
I can do it!
I! Can! Butter! Up! Cats!
With her talent for buttering up cats, Shou Xing opens a shop selling everyday goods for commoners (cat supplies) all across the Cat Kingdom and becomes a tycoon.
She has a Persian cat dancer dressed in gauzy silk on her left, a Maine Coon guard in a sharp uniform on her right, and now and then she gets to stroke the royal cats' sleek, glossy fur while buttering them up...
Life couldn't be better!
