That Beautiful Country Postwoman

Su Xingjuan learns in a dream that she's a cannon-fodder woman in a period novel.

Only if she dies can her cousin, the heroine, take her place as the rural postal carrier in Tangma Town,

then meet the male lead and fall in love with him. As she travels far and wide, she'll take advantage of her access to information unavailable to others to build a fortune.

To protect her precious life, rural postal carrier Su Xingjuan specially hires a "bodyguard." Every day, he accompanies her on foot as she carries an enormous bundle, walking fifty or sixty kilometers back and forth to deliver letters to the people of twenty-eight villages across the countryside.

She's going to become the very, very, very best postal carrier!

Even in his seventies, real estate tycoon Tan Daichuan is an elegant man with a head of white hair, a handsome face, and an eight-pack.

During a televised interview, the host asks why he never married. In a somber voice, he says, "My beloved has passed away."

Before his death, Tan Daichuan returns to the little mountain village where he spent his childhood.

The stars shine brilliantly here, and flowers bloom everywhere.

Leaning against the gravestone he built with his own hands fifty years ago, he chokes back his grief and slowly closes his eyes.

Tan Daichuan is reborn in 1967.

When the pretty village postal carrier appears before him again and sweetly asks him to be her bodyguard,

Tan Daichuan's eyes turn red.

He knows he is about to follow her over steep mountains, through dense forests, and across swift-flowing rivers...

All just to deliver the meager remittances "from far away" to a boy orphaned of both parents, and to bring letters that don't even exist to lonely old people.

He'll never call her foolish again,

and he'll never let her lose her life trying to save him.

This time, he'll protect her with everything he has,

and make sure she knows...

that he likes her very, very much too.
