Chiming Senku has been able to foresee danger since she was little, and she loves helping people whenever she can.
For example, she once passed by Officer Hagiwara and made him pinky swear to put on his protective gear, warning him not to lie to a grade-schooler.
Another time, she passed by a kind, righteous undercover agent and told him, "You've been exposed. Get out of here, now."
And then there was the time beneath the Ferris wheel, when high school freshman Chiming Senku showed up with the bomber in tow, after stopping the remote detonator beforehand.
The only real low point in her life was this: Her grades were decent, but she couldn't get a scholarship. With too little savings to continue her education after graduating high school, and somehow unable to find a job, she might soon end up sleeping under a bridge.
After she pulled an officer out of the path of a car whose driver had nearly hit him while driving drowsy, nineteen-year-old Chiming Senku was at her wit's end.
--Then she received an internship offer from a detective agency.
The code on the attached note spelled out a sentence.
[Thank you for saving my life]
Chiming Senku figured that starving to death was worse than showing up for work. But when she saw her blond, dark-skinned boss, she froze. "Huh? I never saved you!"

The man, whose real surname was Furuya, had been reborn. But by the time he came back, the past was already set in stone. He'd thought he'd have to keep going alone, carrying the burden of his friends' deaths and pursuing their shared goal. Then, out of nowhere, he received a text from Hiro.
[I found her.]
Who? Who did you find? Is this really Hiro?
Furuya's eyes went wide as the surprise hit him.
After looking into it, he decided:
This girl is a little suspicious. I'll keep her close and watch her.
It's definitely not because he felt sorry for her, seeing how close she was to starving.

Newly employed Chiming Senku had this to say: Is my boss really a detective? I hardly ever see him.
This agency is so empty, too. There aren't any cases at all.
Goodbye, boss. I can only go ask my underclassman Washing Machine to help drum up cases and boost the agency's track record, quq!
