Weld the Gold Medal to My Hands! [Figure Skating]

I.

In her previous life, young Qiao Xuyin had to choose between two dreams: becoming a figure skater or an astronaut. She firmly chose the latter and grew up to serve her country.

After living a remarkable life, she transmigrated, only to find herself in the body of a women's singles figure skater.

She had hoped to pursue her unfinished dream, but it was too late. The original owner had already won Olympic gold in women's singles figure skating! At just sixteen, in her first year competing at the senior level!

Question: What should you do when you get a champion's identity for free?

Qiao Xuyin: What's the point if I didn't earn it myself? Obviously, I'll compete in the next Winter Olympics and win the gold medal with my own two feet!

II.

On the day Olympic champion Qiao Xuyin died by suicide, some of her nasty rivals breathed a sigh of relief: The boat had already crossed a thousand mountains.

When Qiao Xuyin returned to the rink, her difficulty and execution had both plummeted. Her rivals celebrated as if the seas could dry up, the rocks crumble, the sky collapse, and the earth split apart, and the mountains might finally stop growing!

At the next Olympics, Qiao Xuyin landed a quadruple axel, becoming the first female skater to complete one. Her rivals were left completely dumbfounded: So the Misty Meng Mountain really does connect to mountains beyond the mountains qwq...

III.

Having crashed into her rivals like a great iceberg time and again, Qiao Xuyin remained very modest in interviews.

Reporter: You've successfully landed a quadruple axel. What are your goals now? Do you ever feel lonely at the top?

Qiao Xuyin: Oh, not really. But the men's singles skaters are working on five-revolution jumps, so I'm wondering if I should try one too.

Reporter, rubbing his forehead: What is a five-revolution jump, a head of cabbage?! Why are you so calm about this?!

Women's singles rival, deadpan: 6

Men's singles skater, fleeing with his head in his hands: Stay away from me!

Reader's guide:

1. The male lead is Su Renyu, a men's singles figure skater. The romance gets relatively little page time. First love for both leads, one-on-one, happy ending.

2. The future setting is fictional, to avoid changing real athletes' achievements and to make the plot easier to develop. I haven't decided which Olympic cycle's COP rules to follow yet. I'll update the blurb once I do.

3. Since the story involves naming technical moves, real-life athletes will inevitably be mentioned. Please take sports seriously and respect both real athletes and the athletes in the story. The characters aren't based on anyone. Please don't conflate real people with the characters.

4. The future setting has a higher level of competition than the present day, so things may seem exaggerated. However, people generally believe the human limit is a five-revolution jump, and the competitive level in the story won't exceed the theoretical human limit.

5. I started this story on September 21, 2021. I'm just a figure skating fan and can't skate. Please point out any mistakes in the research or illogical details, and I'll revise the story as appropriate.

Theme: Strive for what you love, and fight for what is fair.
