After We Stopped Being Friends

Chen Gui has a secret crush on Lin Ruiqian.

For years, he has put up with Lin Ruiqian, a hopelessly oblivious straight man, casually flirting with him. He has watched Lin Ruiqian freeze himself for five hours in the snow to pursue a girl, then come home with a fever and be ignored.

After countless disappointments, Chen Gui's heart finally died. He decided to leave Lin Ruiqian's life and try getting to know other friends.

At the Haishi Microfilm Festival, Lin Ruiqian's team won first place.

The young man stood beneath dazzling lights, trophy in hand. Though pleased with himself, he only smiled with a slight curl of his lips, brimming with youthful confidence.

When he gave his acceptance speech, Lin Ruiqian spoke eloquently about his creative vision. But when it came time to thank the person he most wanted to thank, he grew nervous, gathered his courage, and publicly confessed his love to Chen Gui.

The audience erupted in applause, but Chen Gui, the person at the center of it all, coldly rejected him: "What makes you think I'd wait for you forever?"

A confession that comes too late is like an expired train ticket. No matter how expensive or numerous, it's no use anymore.
