My Cheat Skill Keeps Dragging Me Down

When table tennis player Lu Chaoye and singer Jing Yue switched souls, they both thought the other would be a cheat code on their way to becoming the next big star. Later, after comparing notes in their new bodies, they realized that switching careers was harder than it looked. The cheat code was useless, and if they kept going, it would turn into a jinx. Unfortunately, they couldn’t control when their souls switched. Each time they switched back, they left a mess behind, and the process was always nerve-racking: Standing on the Olympic court, Jing Yue realized she was holding her paddle in her left hand, completely bewildered. Jing Yue: What do I do? I don’t know how to play table tennis, and I’m right-handed. Lu Chaoye: Sis, I’m begging you. This is the Olympics! You can’t get a key player on the national team knocked out in the group stage! Coach: Lu Chaoye, wake up! This is the Olympics!!! Sometimes things went wrong on Jing Yue’s side, too. By the time Jing Yue realized that Lu Chaoye sang off-key, it was already too late. Jing Yue was about to go onstage at a commercial performance when Lu Chaoye blinked and found herself backstage. Lu Chaoye: Sis, I’m sorry. I’ll apologize in advance. I can’t carry a tune. Jing Yue: …Please, just pretend you forgot the words and can’t sing. Manager: Is there still time to play the original track and have her lip-sync?! Everyone knew Lu Chaoye’s favorite celebrity was Jing Yue. Everyone wanted to help her meet her idol, but the two kept missing each other by a hair, so people assumed they weren’t close. That was until the World Table Tennis Championships were held on home soil. Jing Yue visited the national team as a guest, and watched as Lu Chaoye flirted with one teammate and teased another player. The youngest Grand Slam champion was every athlete’s idol, and there was no shortage of people wanting a photo or a practice session with her. With the cameras rolling, Jing Yue couldn’t talk to Lu Chaoye, but then came the fan-service segment, where they had to show off their talents. As the center of attention, the two were dragged onstage and forced to sing a duet. Lu Chaoye confidently took the lead vocal, while Jing Yue could only support her. When the song ended, the fans were stunned. Was this really their off-key singing goddess, Little Lu? Then Jing Yue went on to play, and used Lu Chaoye’s signature reverse-spin serve to fool the world champion. The fans were even more shocked. What happened to her “hopeless at sports” persona? When asked why, the two looked at each other, shrugged in unison, and said together: “I taught her.” The top-tier star ship fans were already clutching their chests and dying on the spot: “I thought I was the one forcing them together,” “I can’t believe the ones making me ship them are the stars themselves!” Older singer-songwriter x younger national team athlete Features a soul-swap premise All competition details are fictional and based on authorial invention Theme: Grow through adversity and strive for the Olympic ideal of higher, faster, stronger
