I couldn't let it go, and in a matter of minutes I switched sides from Rui-and-Tsukushi to Rui-and-Nalisa. Why should Ren have to suffer unrequited love for two girls? Why should Ren make protecting the person he loves and his romantic rival his life's purpose? He deserves a life of his own!
And so this little story came to be. It's very short, with the main plot spanning just three days. (I am still in the middle of another story, after all... I really did write this in a fit of passion...)
Think of it as giving Ren a different future in a parallel universe. He really has had it too rough, and what's worse, he chose it himself...
