Full Moon over the West Tower: Bonus Stories Collection

Moon Over the Western Tower: Extra Stories is a collection of prequels and side stories. Aside from Lonely Island, they all tell stories from before the characters met at the Western Tower. Their plots connect with the main story, unlike the humorous celebratory stories in the neighboring collection, which are all serious narratives. Each is a novella under 100,000 words.

Butterflytail Scales: Geng Yi x Yue Linglou. A sequel to Golden Silk Wings, mainly about how the young master gradually falls ill and falls apart after Qing'er dies. Content warnings: Nobody is faithful, and everyone is sleeping around; scumbags abound, making for some unpleasant sights; there may also be a bit of flat-chest content, though that's a matter of opinion.

Moon Over a Lonely Island: Xi Jinchou x Yue Linglou. An expanded version of the first chapter, Lonely Island, from Part Eight of the main story, Raging Waves. It's a deserted-island survival story about just the two of them from beginning to end. The warning is that they may act a little stupid, and the young master probably really wants to top for once. This is the sweetest time in their honeymoon phase, so here's some extra sweetness to make it up to everyone.

Green God Stronghold: Yi Liusu x Tiandi Liuhua. The story of Yue Yaoguang's childhood at Green God Stronghold, told from his older brother's point of view. Yue Yaoguang knew nothing about many of the things that happened back then; only his brother knew the truth. Tiandi Liuhua dies at the end, and Yue Yaoguang leaves the water stronghold.

Swallows Cherish Flowers: Ouyang Yangyin x Qin Yue'er x Ruan Haotian. The story of Ouyang's childhood encounter with Qin Yue'er, the young palace master of Purple Star Palace, and the later romantic entanglement between Qin Yue'er and Ruan Haotian, including how all three defected from the palace and fled. Warning: There may be some yuri undertones.

Border City: Xi Jinchou and Ouyang Yangyin. The story of their meeting in the border city six years ago. Xi Jinchou has just inherited the Qitian Sword from his master, and Ouyang Yangyin has just betrayed Purple Star Palace. Together, they head to the Kunlun Snow Mountains to search for the ruins of the battlefield where a great duel took place three hundred years ago. Warning: Big Brother Xi flirts with women.

Jade Butterfly: Yue Linglou shines on his own. Set two years before the meeting at the Western Tower, this is the story of Yue Linglou's period of doing whatever he pleased. It explains why He Feng told Xi Jinchou to be careful around Yue Linglou: the man's a bit destructive. Warnings: Nobody is faithful, everyone is evil, and everyone is crazy.

Broken Money Mountain: Liu Chenyi x Yue Linglou. The ending leads into the opening of Moon Over the Western Tower, where Liu Chenyi is killed and Xi Jinchou makes his entrance. It also explores the subtle changes in Yue Linglou's relationship with Geng Yuanxiu and the psychological problems they cause. It echoes the line from Moon Over the Western Tower: "Back then, I was somewhere close to hell."

No Gathering Allowed: The story of Xi Jinchou accidentally wandering into Yellow Springs Alley and meeting Yin Yun and Yin Minmin.

Heaven's Gate: Xi Jinchou and Ouyang Yangyin. A story set in Hangzhou two years ago. Ouyang Yangyin uses the death of Tang Yizhi, sect leader of the Tianxiang Sect, to force Xi Jinchou to come to Hangzhou and meet him. He then trades the Qitian Sword for the Hidden Sword, turning Xi Jinchou into a rising star in the martial world. Warning: The relationship between the two is still ambiguous.

Arctic Sect: The story of Yue Yaoguang joining the Arctic Sect after leaving the water stronghold.

First Fruit: The story of the first time Biji Lanhua bore fruit, told from the perspective of the previous generation's Gui Yuan.

Xin Orchid: The story of the Seventh Palace Master of Purple Star Palace, Hongye, and Man Qing, who grew up together.

Peach Blossom Ashes: The tangled love and hatred among Geng Yuanxiu, Murong Qing, Yue Xian, and their circle.

Nether River Stronghold: The story of Chen Jianhong uniting the water strongholds, along with the love triangle between Xiao Shun and Tang Bi.

Spirit Sword Pool: The story of Yang Ying and Hongye.

Thousand Swan Chronicles: The story of the Chang family, a branch of the Thousand Swan sect.

Theme: Those destined to meet will find each other, even across a thousand miles.
