Blurb:

Rising starlet Jiang Wanyao has just discovered that she is a contrast-role villainess in a showbiz novel about raising kids.

A system suddenly appears and tells her what will happen if the plot unfolds as written:

The heroine will be gentle and considerate on a parenting variety show, with amazing chemistry with the movie star. Meanwhile, Jiang Wanyao, a kid-hating menace, will make a whole bunch of children cry, get stabbed in the back by her own on-screen partner, and be so viciously flamed online that she leaves the industry.

Her job is to follow the plot obediently.

Wanyao looks at the hit drama she and her on-screen partner are starring in.

?

System: Seriously, just look. →

Before filming the variety show begins, the scumbag cheats on her.

Wanyao: I absolutely won't put up with this!

System: Go on, follow the plot and fulfill your duties as the villainess.

She kicks the scumbag to the curb and breaks up their pairing.

System: ???

Wanyao is sobbing on the curb over her miserable future when some oblivious driver splashes her with water.

Furious, she calls the police!

At the station, the driver who comes to pay the fine turns out to be Bai Yi, the heroine's future partner and a famous movie star.

And then, somehow, the movie star won't leave her alone?

"Traveling with the Kids" is a parenting reality show. Just as the program invites Jiang Wanyao and her family, who play a family in a hit drama, news breaks that the on-screen couple has split up. What a disaster!

The show is about to fall through!

Director (through gritted teeth): "Ms. Jiang, we're terminating..."

Before he can get the words "our contract" out, a certain famous movie star takes Wanyao's hand and turns to the kid eating candy. "Be good and call me Dad."

Jiang Wanyao's eyes curve into a smile. "Director, we can start filming now, right?"

Director: "Yes, absolutely!"

Lin Ruoruo is a newcomer who has just entered the industry and works for the same company as movie star Bai Yi. With the plot in hand, she knows that:

Bai Yi's manager will invite her to join "Traveling with the Kids." As the only family on the show who don't know each other, they won't be well received. But next to the villainess Jiang Wanyao's disastrous performance, Lin Ruoruo will seem gentle and considerate, and instantly become a hit across the internet.

But she waits and waits for filming to begin.

Bai Yi and Jiang Wanyao have become a new on-screen couple?!

Yu Susu dies in childbirth.

Only after her death does she learn that she's the villainous mother in a power-fantasy novel.

In the book, her son is earning his doctorate at eighteen, a genius known far and wide! Young Lu Yunan... is sinister and vicious. So vicious that he creates a supervirus to destroy the world.

At the critical moment, the male lead appears out of nowhere and kills him, turning him into a stepping stone on the road to fame and glory.

Yu Susu's eyes turn red as a rabbit's: ?

When she opens her eyes again, she's come back to life, eighteen years later.

Before she can ask Lu Jinchao how he raised their son... Lu Yunan is already on the verge of creating the supervirus!

She acts at once:

Disguised as a junior student from a neighboring school, she invites him onto a variety show, far away from the main plot about destroying the world!

Lu Yunan looks at the face that's one hundred percent identical to his biological mother's and agrees. But when he sees their title, "temporary siblings," he falls into deep thought...

The show begins filming, using the latest popular live-streaming wristbands.

Yu Susu is confused, frantically searching through the original owner's memories: What is this? How do I use it? Lu Yunan hides the sinister look in his eyes, fastens the wristband for her, and awkwardly explains how it works.

Yu Susu blinks obediently and greets the camera... The viewers are completely blown away by her beauty!

[Ahhh! Her beauty is out of this world!!! Pretty girl, come here and let me hug you~]

The guests have to make their own meals.

Yu Susu stares blankly at the various high-tech appliances. Lu Yunan thoughtfully takes charge of the cooking, making steak and sandwiches.

Yu Susu gets her grown-up son to help her light a fire in a traditional stove. Before long, there's braised pork ribs, sweet and sour fish, spicy diced chicken, crispy fried shrimp... The aroma carries for miles!

The guests on the other teams drool with envy, while viewers frantically order takeout!

[What kind of top-tier gourmet chef is this?!]

The guests play a game of live-action CS to earn spending money.

Yu Susu, who's only ever played Super Mario, looks to her grown-up son. Without a word, Lu Yunan takes her along to an easy win... or at least halfway there, before the male lead suddenly appears and nearly takes them out in one shot!

Yu Susu fires back and gets him with a headshot!

[Whoa! She's so cool!!!]

When the sibling variety show ends, the "temporary siblings" Yu Susu and Lu Yunan become a huge sensation:

[Is this little sister some kind of all-around fairy?! I love her!]

[Ahhh! The sibling pairing with Lu Yunan is so good too!]

At that moment, Lu Yunan holds up a freshly printed DNA test. "Mom?"

Yu Susu: "Yes, my dear boy!"

Lu Jinchao, who happens to witness this: "?!"

*

Lu Jinchao once swore that he would grow old with someone. But before he could fulfill that promise, she was gone.

After that, he devoted himself to work and paid no attention to anything else.

Later, he sees the exact same face from his memories beside his son...

His mind roars!
