In a nutshell: A crossover of Bakuman, The Prince of Tennis, Legal High, and more. It's probably a story about a group of people who've been beaten up by reality, wiping the blood off their faces and carrying on with their stubborn dreams.
Blurb:
On the day of her JUMC interview, Yoshida, one of the interviewers, looked at her with a critical eye.
"Even though the company president recommended you, I'm afraid, Miss Asama. We have a responsibility to the manga artists. A newcomer like you, with absolutely no experience, would at best be running errands and assisting the editorial department. Are you still willing to do it?"
"No problem!"
A shrewd look flashed across Yoshida's face.
--Great! We can hire a highly qualified law graduate who can speak up in front of the investors for the salary of an editorial intern. What a bargain!
The next day.
Yoshida: "...What are you doing? Why are you wearing gloves?"
Asama Toru: "It's to make sure the evidence... I mean, the manuscript doesn't get contaminated!"
Yoshida: "Calm down. We're just here to pick up a manuscript, and they only gave us a copy. It's fine. Now take off your mask, too."
--He'd already dealt with more than enough weirdos at work! Could his new subordinate at least be normal?
Except for the tiny 0.01 percent of the world's population, we're all ordinary people.
Our talent is limited. We struggle and strive, trying to use our limited abilities to pursue our boundless dreams.
Sometimes the unseen reality presses in like a monster, seeming ready to crush our courage. But it's all right. It's wonderful to meet someone on the road to your dream who shares your aspirations and is fighting just as hard.
Excerpt:
On the day Fukuda Shinta decided to confess to his editor, he saw her get out of a luxury car by the roadside. The handsome guy inside tossed her the car keys, then gave the car to the girl of his dreams.
Fukuda Shinta couldn't help looking down at the shabby necklace in his hand and silently mourned his first love, over before it had even begun.
Takagi patted Fukuda on the shoulder. The story of Hiroshima's Romeo, still single, seemed set to continue.
Everyone said Fukuda was already out of the running the moment the luxury car pulled up. Only Niizuma disagreed. "Not necessarily. If an expensive gift doesn't surprise the other person, it's no different from a little cake. Asama's expression was completely casual, and the other guy clearly knew it. He gave her an expensive gift and left without asking her out or anything. I think those two feel more like friends, or even relatives. Ah, Asama's coming over. She's looking over here, right at Teacher Fukuda! If you weren't running away from your deadlines like Teacher Hiramaru, Fukuda, that intense look would definitely mean she was super into you, right?"
The events that followed proved once again that Niizuma Eiji really was a man with the script in hand.
I reread Bakuman and loved it so much that I had to write this! It's for fellow fans. Even if you haven't seen the anime or read the manga, you can still enjoy this story!
The male lead is Fukuda Shinta, who calls himself Hiroshima's Romeo but is actually incredibly pure-hearted, haha. The female lead is a rich heiress and junior editor who used to be a lawyer.
1v1, no other love interests. They help each other achieve their dreams.
P.S. Bakuman, also known as BAKUMAN, is about manga artists working hard and striving for success. It's a passionate story about their careers, without any fighting, and it's so good! Please, go read it!
