The Half-Dragon Girl and the Book of Friends

Memories are a way of meeting again, and forgetting is a form of freedom. There's no need to grieve or worry. Every little moment spent with you is the most beautiful story. While being chased by a youkai, Natsume accidentally stumbles into a shrine. When he staggers out through another exit, night is falling. The grassland has become a broad river, countless lights are shining, and eight million gods and youkai are passing by him with their noses covered. He looks down and realizes that he is slowly turning transparent and disappearing. Just as he is at a loss, a girl with brown hair and beautiful dark green eyes grabs his hand. "Don't be afraid." For some reason, Natsume can no longer recall any more details about the time he accidentally wandered into the divine realm. All he remembers is that, at the very end, the girl whose face he can no longer picture gently pushed him from behind and told him, "No matter what, don't look back." Natsume resisted the urge to turn around. He thought he would never see her again, and spent over a month feeling as low and heartsick as if he'd been dumped. The reason he didn't stay downhearted was that, a week later, a transfer student joined his class: a swimming prodigy who made his heart race for no apparent reason and seemed strangely familiar. "I'm Ogino Kaoru. I'm good at swimming, I hate magic, and as for what I like... does Natsume count?" Taken aback by the sudden confession, Natsume stammered, "...W-wait a second. Who are you?" The girl across from him looked even more shocked, then angry, and finally smiled in a way that was mysteriously dangerous. Nyanko-sensei: "That's why I keep telling you! Don't go making contracts with youkai or gods! Takashi, you idiot!" "Someday, all the names in Reiko's Book of Friends will return to their owners, won't they? When I think of it that way, I feel a little lonely." "If that day really comes... If you feel lonely, just call my name, Natsume-kun." The male lead is Natsume Takashi. The female lead is the daughter of Haku and Chihiro, half human and half dragon, and may awaken as a god later in the story. Because Natsume has to leave the divine realm, he temporarily forgets the female lead. When she returns and demands that he keep his promise, she gets furious because he swore he wouldn't forget her. A lightly comedic chase-your-wife-to-the-crematorium story. Natsume gradually regains his memories later on. #Also known as: "She's a Dragon"# Theme: Time is the best medicine for healing wounds
