[DC and Marvel] Batman Decides to Fall

A bat shot out of the sky. Blood stained the ground beneath him. He decided to give up everything, leaving behind a soul shattered and pieced back together, his partner, his family, and Gotham.

He wanted to give that heartbroken little bird what he wanted to see.

Even though he wasn't even the original bat. A fake, an impostor: that was how he saw himself.

He regretted abandoning everything Batman cherished without permission, but he had made up his mind and would not change it.

He thought he would die. Instead, when he opened his eyes, he was in a stinking garbage heap. The blood on him was still wet, and his torn Batsuit was still there, clinging to his body.

He forced his way out of an overflowing trash can. He had never thought about starting over. It was just that something seemed to have changed.

He had arrived in another Gotham.

He had originally been nothing more than an ordinary person who played video games.

*Original title: A Bat Shot Dead (DC Comics Crossover)

*This idea came from a sudden thought while playing Arkham Knight, during a sniper scene.

*I'm still building up a backlog. I plan to start posting when I have 50,000 to 100,000 words, or I might end up delaying updates too much. (I haven't saved up nearly enough.)

*The characters include my personal interpretations, so expect plenty of out-of-character moments.

*Updates will be unpredictable. Take a look at my profile and you'll see I can't promise reliable updates. I'm trying to finish my abandoned stories, though.

*If I drop this story, I'll post an outline. Even if I don't have one, I'll share my ideas for what comes next and hope someone picks them up. (Not really.)
