Lost in Your Eyes

Zhong Xiaoqing had spent ten years climbing the corporate ladder, honing a set of skills that made her "immune to every poison," only to get burned by some green kid and lose a contract she'd just negotiated.

He Mingchuan waved the newly signed contract in front of her with a smug look. "Sister Zhong, you're not all that impressive after all. This deal is mine now."

From then on, it was as if she'd offended the god of misfortune. Projects got snatched out from under her, training spots were inexplicably given to someone else, and even her business trips were suddenly delayed.

Only later did she discover that He Mingchuan was behind it all. And on top of that, the kid was the only son of the He Group.

Fine. If she couldn't afford to offend him, she could at least stay out of his way.

But on the rainy night she was about to leave, He Mingchuan knocked on her door, drenched from head to toe, his eyes red. "Sister Zhong, I was wrong. Don't go."

Zhong Xiaoqing folded her arms and leaned against the doorframe, guarded and keeping him at a distance. She smiled faintly at him, then shut the door in his face.

He Mingchuan: ...

At first, he only wanted to make this arrogant woman suffer a little, approaching her with the intention of teasing her. But eventually he understood that he had fallen for her from the very first moment he saw Zhong Xiaoqing. Every time he picked a fight, every time he acted unreasonable, every time they went head-to-head, it had all been to get her attention.

What an idiot.
