Joy in the Golden Tower

/Marriage first, love later/Hot-tempered Aries princess x scheming, aloof son-in-law/ Princess Yin had loved artists with rarefied tastes and refined sensibilities since childhood. On a spring outing in the gardens, she took one look at top scholar Pei Qingwen, with his extraordinary learning and snow-pure elegance, and immediately set her heart on him. She specially summoned him to become her husband. More than half a year after their wedding, however, she and her husband sat opposite each other in silence every day. He was nothing like the deeply devoted, witty couples in the romance stories. Instead, he busied himself painting pictures resembling his childhood sweetheart, as if he had been forced into marriage and imprisoned in the princess's residence, his resentment endless. The princess put up with it for half a year, then finally flew into a rage. What do I need a block of wood for? Return him! So she filed a formal petition and sent her husband back where he came from. Another half year passed after they parted. The princess took her time choosing a new husband, while Minister Pei's love poems kept arriving at her residence like snowflakes. On the Ghost Festival, Minister Pei stood outside the princess's residence, looking lonely and dejected, and slowly poured out his grievances. "Jiaojiao, I used to be a remonstrating official whose every word carried great weight. Now I've studied hard and learned to write gentle poetry and romance stories, and I can even put on a one-man opera." "No one else could possibly be as talented as I am. If you want to take a new husband, why not marry me again...?" Theme: To be decided
