Social Misfit

// Working at a new media company, Xu Wen is a lonely, socially anxious person. That is, until she happens to meet the young CEO of the finance company next door. In the elevator, Xu Wen stands beside Mr. Shen. Neither of them dares to press the button. Xu Wen sneaks a look at his sharp, cool features in the mirror. So she's not the only one. As they grow closer, Xu Wen often forwards Shen Ji insightful articles about improving social skills. They work hard together, hoping to overcome their anxiety as a pair. Then, on the day she gets her wisdom teeth removed, the anesthetic still in effect, Xu Wen hugs a potted plant in the office building lobby and dances a cha-cha of love. In one fell swoop, she becomes a famous social butterfly in the Huainan Road business district. Once she comes to her senses, Xu Wen is utterly mortified. She's also worried that Shen Ji won't acknowledge her as his fellow socially anxious friend anymore. But the next day, the neighboring finance company makes an operational mistake, and a video of Mr. Shen performing a solo ice dance in figure skates plays on the building's exterior LED screen all day long. There. Now they're a pair of public embarrassments. It takes Xu Wen a long, long time to figure it out. How could Mr. Shen, who made a name for himself in business circles at such a young age, possibly be socially anxious? Feeling deceived, she refuses to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Mr. Shen catches her fist and pulls her into his arms, laughing softly. "I didn't lie. I really do get nervous around you because I like you so much." - Theme: Embrace a world full of sunshine.
