The top and bottom are devoted to each other, locked in for life. Usually there are no unnecessary romantic subplots besides theirs. The authors are often fans of multiple pairings. For personal reasons, I rarely give five stars. I have a terrible memory, so my reviews may change at any time.

Bottom-Led Reading List | Historical and Western Fantasy BL
I lean toward the receiving partner in BL and mainly care about how he's written. I want the giving partner to make the first move. I'm not too bothered by pretty or idealized giving partners, as long as the author doesn't imply in the narration that they want to kiss even if it means dying together. Check the comments for trigger warnings.

Historical Danmei (Happy Ending)
Keeping a record of the historical danmei I've read. Mostly monogamous, with no angst between the couple and decent writing. The four-star rating is only because I couldn't give full marks.
Completed Historical BL
No transmigrate into a book, no System, no rebirth, and no cross-dressing. Pure natives, though some chapters are locked.
CPJ’s Book List, No Ship-Policing
I can be pretty indulgent toward works that are genuinely well written, but I can't accept one-sided relationships. No controlling or possessive characters.
If I Get Into Historical BL, My Life Is Over
Control freaks and yumejoshi stay out. Violators will be executed immediately. I'll briefly note my deal-breakers, but this is fundamentally just a personal organizational list. I can't do anything about locked chapters at certain list levels, and I hate that book recommendations and completed-book ratings are linked.
Books with Great Plots and Romance
Some stories I really like, with great plots and couples who are a joy to ship. Both leads are completely smitten with each other (in a good way).
Historical Chinese BL
Peak perfection
Mostly Original Settings, Hurt/Comfort, Battle-Scarred, Beautiful and Tragic Heroes
I get excited whenever the protagonist gets hurt. I like seeing them hold back their pain while others worry over them and take care of them, or regret it afterward. I especially like interstellar settings, historical settings, and quick transmigration. I try not to recommend popular stories. Feel free to recommend some!
