Falling Out of Love

The first time I saw you, my heart burst into fireworks. It will take a lifetime to sweep up the ashes. - Fortress Besieged

Gu Yuwei and Su Ci were destined to be two parallel lines, never to intersect.

One was as radiant as spring blossoms, quiet and sweet, a model student everyone adored.

The other was aloof and cold, looking down on everyone.

A fleeting glimpse when she was twelve: Su Ci was like a ray of light falling into Gu Yuwei's heart, never to be erased.

When they finally met again, Gu Yuwei held back her excitement and cautiously drew closer. She wrote his name over and over on paper, and lingered at every place he'd been, learning his habits, hobbies, and favorite foods...

She secretly loved him, never daring to bring it up. Until he lied to her and made her the subject of a bet. She became a joke between him and his friends, the most ridiculous clown in the world...

When they meet again, he is a rising star in the business world, with a cool, sharp face that draws countless admirers.

But whenever Gu Yuwei runs into Su Ci, she curls in on herself like a hedgehog, bristling with sharp quills and doing everything she can to avoid him.

Yet the man who had always looked on the world with cold eyes keeps closing in on her, cornering her against a wall. His gaze is tender, his eyes bloodshot as he says hoarsely, "Why are you avoiding me?"

Gu Yuwei clenches her fist, but her expression remains calm. "Sorry, we don't know each other well."

Both are romantically inexperienced, no real-life inspiration.
