Ever since Haili read a quick transmigration novel about a villain's redemption, she couldn't stop thinking about a legal document in one of its insectoid-world arcs, a document that exposed social injustice. For months, she was troubled by the fate of a female insect who appeared only in passing in the document, without even being named.
After all, the reborn male lead realized his mistakes and from then on walked hand in hand with his beloved male spouse, treating him with care and affection. But that unnamed female insect was also a male spouse, and even though her miscarriage had been caused by her husband's abuse, she was charged with deliberately harming a male insect and their offspring. She was cast out of her home, had her wings removed, and was even shackled and sent to a desolate planet, never to be heard from again. Though that wicked male insect eventually got what he deserved, it did nothing to extinguish the blazing anger in Haili's heart.
So, now that there was still time to change things, Haili would of course do everything she could. She only hoped that the injustice she had fretted over for so long, even from behind the dimensional wall, could finally have a happy ending, and that the one who had weighed on her mind could live a life free of worry, filled with happiness and peace.
[A few notes and content warnings]
1. This story was inspired by an insectoid-world legal document in the quick transmigration novel A Thousand Ways to Reform a Scumbag by Diaobaobao. I privately contacted the author on Weibo and received permission.
*The author also posts on Jinjiang. I highly recommend this book, as well as Don't Be a Kept Man and Saving the Tragic Villain in Progress (all quick transmigration BL, with a male lead pursuing men).
2. This insectoid world has lots of original worldbuilding, and there are women! The heroine's body is similar to that of an alpha woman in an ABO setting, but there are also women with the usual female biology (though everyone's genes are genuinely insectoid). So male childbirth (by female insects and sub-females) and female childbirth (by women whose biology is the same as ours, not women like the heroine) both exist. There are very few women, even fewer than male insects. The story will explain how this society came to be. If this bothers you, please back out using the top-left corner. There are plenty of other great stories!
3. The male lead had a male spouse before the story begins, so this is not a first-time-for-both pairing (the heroine is, the male lead isn't). Please don't read if that bothers you.
4. This is my first original story and my first insectoid story. I welcome reasonable advice about the writing or plot development, but not mindless attacks on the characters or author.
5. I haven't decided whether there will be insect eggs, but if there are, they'll probably appear in the extras.
6. This story may be short and updates may be irregular, but I'll do my best, hehe.
7. Comments and interaction are very welcome. I lose motivation when nobody comments, sob.
8. It's a happy ending!
