A player logs into Stein, a full-dive game billed as a second life. Through a careless mistake from the start, they become acquainted with five friends from the police academy, and from then on their daily life in the game is like an action movie.
Who could have guessed that, just when they finally graduate from the police academy, one terrible piece of news after another would come from their friends? Unwilling to accept an ending where the cherry blossoms fall, the player keeps reloading and trying again, finally finding a way to change their friends' fates of death
By changing pivotal moments in their lives, they can cause major shifts in the world line and escape the convergence toward death.
And so
The auto repair shop in the Hagiwara family thrives. Matsuda's father successfully competes and wins the championship. Hiromitsu's parents are alive and well, and his family is happy. Date's father becomes a respected veteran of the police force.
After successfully helping their friends escape their fated deaths and make up for their past regrets, the player is satisfied, believing they have achieved the perfect world line.
Little do they know that after so many major changes, the world line has already twisted into something completely different.
The cherry blossoms are reborn after being tainted by darkness. The prey, immersed in a game of friendship, has unknowingly stepped into the sweet trap woven by the black cherry blossoms, with no way out.
The player, finally learning that their friends have been corrupted by spiked drinks: I choose to reload! Re... I can't rewind to the original world line anymore!! (Covers mouth and cries.)
