[Main story complete] Shen Zhiheng is a human NPC in a game. By chance, he gets his hands on a book: The Monster NPC Handbook. A mysterious manual said to contain terrifying power. He opens to the first page: [1] When the abyss gazes at you, stop immediately. Do not answer anyone, not even your family. [2] There are only bamboo rafts on the ocean. If you see a red searchlight, turn around at once. Remember, there are no ships on the ocean. [3] If you meet a doctor wearing a bird-beak mask, ignore his questions and imagine yourself as a crow. [4] A starfish is not a starfish. It is ▇▇▇▇, and can be eaten under ▇▇▇ conditions. … Shen Zhiheng is baffled. That's it? The pages flutter open and stop at a black-and-white photograph. [996] Shen Zhiheng, human, pretty useless thing. …Now that's just bullying! Proud Shen Zhiheng closes the book and changes class to become a rookie streamer. * Nobody thinks much of this player, including Shen Zhiheng's monster coworkers. They gleefully wait for him to die. A trap-filled office tower, the secret truth behind human development, the horrifying Grinnywei incident… With each instance Shen Zhiheng clears, the monster rules recorded in the manual get stranger and stranger. Finally, someone reports a bug to the System. “Hello, System? Are you going to do something about this? What player can summon the Lord of Monsters while clearing an instance?” * One day, as usual, Shen Zhiheng holds up a portrait of the final boss and tries to fool a crowd of monsters. “You guys know this dude, right? My ex-boyfriend! Pretty, huh?” The monsters point frantically behind Shen Zhiheng. Black mist slowly coalesces into a tall, slender figure and winds around Shen Zhiheng's ankle. The final boss asks coldly, “Hmm? Ex-boyfriend?” Shen Zhiheng: …What do you do when you get caught pretending to date someone by the person in question? They start out on opposite sides, so he's not particularly friendly toward players at first. He's a heartthrob with lots of admirers! 2. The gong is a mysterious, fragmented character with a secret background and little screen time. 3. There are no monsters in the first instance. The blurb's events begin afterward. 4. A brain-off power fantasy. The male lead is an invincible bking, so leave your brain at the door! 5. Without even opening it, he tosses it straight into the trash. “My parents have been dead for ten years. Who still pulls this kind of prank?” The next second, he wakes up strapped to a bed in a psychiatric hospital. His parents, dead for years, are there, their eyes red from crying as they swear they'll take Lu Qian home. Lu Qian breaks into a cold sweat. He remembers that the back of the letter had three sentences written on it. He can travel between two worlds that seem identical but are actually very different. In the normal world, his gentle senior visits him in his hospital bed and uses a little knife to peel an apple for him. His fingers are slender and well-proportioned. In the abnormal world, that same senior uses terrifying, deformed tentacles to crush every inhuman creature that covets Lu Qian. The gentle senior tilts his head, his long neck drooping all the way to the floor. “Are you touched?” Lu Qian: “Touched… I don't dare move…” * The world's abnormality stems from the notebook his parents left behind. Every strange phenomenon points to an inexplicable moment in time. Lu Qian opens the notebook. How come I can't understand a single word? QAQ No matter.
