I'm Just a Background Character, Okay?!

Nan Qian is a method actress. Unfortunately, as a minor actress with barely any profile, she may long to act, but she rarely gets the chance. That is, until one day she finds herself inside a wealthy-family novel. In the novel, not long after the head of the Qin family dies, his stepwife, who has endured years of hardship and has a volatile personality, finally turns the tables and goes head-to-head with the eldest Qin son. Together, they take control of the Qin corporation. But then the eldest Qin son has an accident and falls into a coma, becoming a vegetable. The male lead, the second Qin son, has no choice but to return from overseas to take charge of the company and battle his stepmother. A bloody war between the wealthy families is about to begin. With a battle this fierce, even a passing dog might get kicked. But none of this has anything to do with Nan Qian. System: Don't worry. You were raised by the Qin family after losing your parents as a young child, and you're the daughter of one of their relatives, but the plot has almost nothing to do with you. You're just an inconspicuous passerby, the kind no one notices. Nan Qian: Inconspicuous? So no matter what I do, people will hardly notice me, and I won't get in the way of the plot? System: ...Normally, yes. Nan Qian is ecstatic. Isn't this a once-in-a-lifetime chance to indulge her passion for acting?! So Nan Qian picks and chooses, giving herself a few roles to play in this war between the wealthy families: A "mommy's girl" and little green-tea schemer who only has eyes for her stepmother. A sunny little sister who quietly encourages her comatose big brother. And she even turns her big brother's best friend, the eldest son of the Meng family, into a stand-in for her unattainable first love, creating the image of a lovelorn girl suffering through the pain of youth. She has built-in invisibility, after all. She can act her roles and slip away, unnoticed. Hehe~ Nan Qian keeps adding scenes for herself, and just when she has finally gotten her fill of acting, she realizes that things are getting more and more out of hand. The stepmother, a woman who has always been fiercely independent, looks at her with tears in her eyes. "The whole world wants me dead. Thank goodness I have you." The eldest Qin son, who the book explicitly says will never wake up, suddenly opens his eyes and holds Nan Qian's hand tightly. Even the eldest Meng son, her refined, unattainable first-love stand-in, looks at her with unmistakable affection. "I'll repay you many times over for all the love I've felt for you over the years." Nan Qian: ??? Wait... Wake up, you guys! I'm just a passerby! Damn it, System! You said passersby were automatically invisible! You didn't say this System was so useless it could break down at any moment... #Help! What do I do when I've overacted?# #I was just acting around. Why are you taking it seriously?# #Hello, I'm just an actress T_T# Theme: Professional dedication
