In the original story, Xie Huaifei was a tyrant, a sickly beauty, and a mad beauty.
He was jealous of the Xianbei Hu slave who was the proud, invincible male protagonist. He beat and tortured the man, only to be killed in the end by the new emperor, Xie Mingji, who had risen through the ranks and successfully rebelled.
Before the beating, the System bound itself to him and urged him not to dig his own grave. He smiled and replied:
"All right."
That night, the Hu slave had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a well-defined chest. Xie Huaifei tormented him relentlessly, leaving marks all over his body. His beautiful golden eyes shone with humiliation and conflicted desire. Xie Huaifei spent the entire night wishing he could make the man die in bed.
At dawn the next day, the System nearly collapsed. [I told you not to beat him, not to sleep with him!]
Xie Huaifei nearly drove the System to death with anger, laughing so hard he could barely stand. But he still didn't want to treat Xie Mingji unfairly. He decided to trade his own life for a stepping stone that would help Xie Mingji rise to power.
He made Xie Mingji a general and personally sent him off to battle, where he could fight the enemy in a sea of blood and, one day, kill his future self.
When Xie Mingji returned victorious, Xie Huaifei still thought his revenge was too slow, even after all the humiliation he'd endured. So, in front of the assembled ministers, he added fuel to the fire, mocking Xie Mingji: once a slave, always a slave. But Xie Mingji said nothing, silently enduring it all.
Then Xie Huaifei forced Xie Mingji to marry a lowly palace maid. He had noticed that Xie Mingji seemed to treat the beautiful maid differently. Realizing she was the heroine, he made a painful sacrifice and brought the two together.
But the next day, a palace coup erupted. Soldiers poured into the court, shoulder to shoulder. Xie Mingji stripped him of the throne and ascended it himself. Xie Huaifei watched as the new emperor stood tall and elegant, raising a hand to dismiss the trembling crowd.
"Wonderful. Use my blood to stain the banners on your imperial carriage."
Then Xie Mingji pinned him to the imperial bed. The veins in his forehead bulged as he held himself back for a long time. He lowered his gaze, dark emotions churning in his eyes, and resolutely stole Xie Huaifei's first kiss.
Xie Huaifei: ???
Then he was stunned to find himself enjoying Xie Mingji, whom he'd served up on a platter.
Afterward, Xie Huaifei's sickly, pale face was flushed and glowing, making him even more beautiful and dazzling. The new emperor beside him stared at him without looking away. Xie Huaifei was slow to catch on, but eventually noticed something.
He was silent for a moment, then belatedly realized that Xie Mingji didn't like the heroine. Instead, he had set his sights on him, the villain.
He laughed in anger. Had all those years of being forced into this and that by him actually been a reward?
