The Three Kingdoms: Why Has My Lord Surrendered First?

Wang Lin, courtesy name Zifen. For the sake of a certain wish, he arrived in the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty and received a golden finger.

His golden finger was pretty useless. It let him randomly create secret identities, each of which came with a random skill.

The randomness was so thorough that he had no idea what a secret identity's gender, appearance, or background would be, or even where it was.

Armed with this near-useless golden finger, his mission was to unite the Three Kingdoms.

Wang Lin: "..."

Wang Lin: "I have a bold idea!"

From the east came a wise ruler named Tang Ren.

From the south came a hero named Song Yi.

From the west came a fierce general named Yuan Li.

From the north came a brilliant talent named Ming Zhi.

The strategist in the east: "My lord is the wisest!"

The young general in the west: "My lord is the bravest!"

The student in the north: "My lord is the most benevolent!"

Wang Lin: "Stop arguing. You're all talking about me."

"My lord, when are we going to crush those fools on the other side?"

"Well... don't rush. The time isn't right yet."

The old ministers wept bitterly. "We are ready to fight to the death! Why has our lord surrendered first?"

Wang Lin remained expressionless.

Why?

Because the other side is me, too!

Why fight? Go home and farm!

Isn't infrastructure development much better?

An ambitious protagonist.

No romance, long-form story.

Highlights:

1. For history buffs. Mainly based on Records of the Three Kingdoms, with some academic publications and papers, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms as a secondary source.

2. No bashing, disparaging, or favoring any of the Sun, Cao, or Liu factions. (I like all the strategists from all three factions.)

3. Corrections are welcome!

Theme: Light will always overcome darkness. As long as you have hope, you can make it happen.
