Since its launch, the Counterattack Game has drawn mixed reviews.

The criticism comes from the dangers lurking at every turn: life and death are uncertain, players turn on each other, ferocious beasts roam, and players must solve puzzles and clear challenges. The survival rate is appallingly low.

The praise mostly comes from its lavish rewards: beautiful people, money, fame, and V-energy injections that can change the human body...

In just fifteen years, the player base has grown to over a million. The rewards are so generous that they can satisfy the desires of most people, making players flock to the game...

Lu Shi, once offered as a [Beautiful Human Sacrifice] reward, had his memories wiped and began his first game. Countless veteran players came for a chance to meet him, including 091, a top-tier player so formidable that even the Counterattack Game's officials feared him. 091 was deeply interested in Lu Shi.

091: I came because of your reputation, and I never leave empty-handed.

091 was determined to claim this beautiful human sacrifice.

They met in the eerie, unpredictable Yao Family Village dungeon. The first time 091 saw him, he humiliated him, then coolly told Lu Shi: "You're beautiful, but I prefer someone more obedient."

Lu Shi was too proud and aloof to make a perfect lover.

And 091 was no different. Neither of them would ever bow or admit defeat.

091 is the visibly unhinged one. His actions and thoughts are unpredictable; he's capable of anything, and can't be defined by conventional logic.

Lu Shi rarely shows his madness, but he's no less crazy than 091. His recovery after losing his memories is short. (Amnesia does not mean turning into a helpless flower.)

Wasteland setting / two powerful leads / lighthearted, sweet romance

A nonhuman, love-struck god seme x a long-suffering, beloved uke

In the wasteland, resources are scarce, and disease and mutant beasts run rampant.

Bai Ze, the guardian of the Sun-Crown Tribe, protects the old humans from the harsh environment. He has a sweet little wife, Yan Mingxiao, but unfortunately, he pays little attention to him.

The little wife was a Wanderer, sent to negotiate with the Sun-Crown Tribe and establish cooperation. But the tribe unexpectedly sent the seemingly obedient, harmless boy straight into Bai Ze's shrine, claiming that Yan Mingxiao was a special mutated being who had received a "blessing."

He was the human most suited to worship the gods, chosen to be the wife of the god Bai Ze.

The wedding was dazzling, and Yan Mingxiao knew that if he refused, it would be even harder to build a bridge between the old humans and the Wanderers.

"I have never acknowledged you as Bai Ze's wife."

"Then let's get to know each other again. Hello, I'm Yan Mingxiao, a major general in the Southwest Expeditionary Forces of the Wanderers. I look forward to working with you."

Who could resist a sweet, soft, obedient Yan Mingxiao gazing up at you, desperate for cuddles?

Bai Ze could. Not only could he, he could leave his wife alone for three months and not let Yan Mingxiao see him even once.

The fighting in the southwest was urgent. After wrapping up the Sun-Crown Tribe's affairs, Yan Mingxiao went to the shrine to say goodbye before leaving.

But after transforming into a tiny little ball and scampering after Yan Mingxiao to the southwestern combat zone, the good news was that Yan Mingxiao didn't recognize the little ball as Bai Ze, so his aloof image remained intact.

The bad news was that Bai Ze realized he was in serious trouble.

As a nonhuman being who'd left the Sun-Crown Tribe, Bai Ze found it hard to adapt to human living conditions and social customs. On top of that, the combat zone was in poor condition and heavily polluted. As soon as he arrived, he became listless from the change in environment.

But his wife was not only immensely popular, he was also a beloved, formidable human weapon. Yan Mingxiao earned top honors in nine out of ten battles.

Watching his wife return victorious, laughing and chatting with everyone else, Bai Ze grew more and more jealous. He weighed whether to take Yan Mingxiao back or make his claim on him clear.

Bai Ze chose the latter and immediately transformed into human form.

In front of everyone, he asked Yan Mingxiao, "What am I to you?"

Yan Mingxiao stared at him in confusion. "Who are you?"

"Bai Ze. What should you call me, in human terms?"

Yan Mingxiao: "H-hubby?"

By the next day, everyone in the southwestern combat zone knew that Yan Mingxiao had a jealous, sarcastic hubby.

Love can be addictive, and so can messing with your wife~
